The official: Portrait Humor Thread....

Keep it clean...
Okay, so a friend asked me for some examples of "bad portraits"

As I was gathering a few examples... (I know, mine suck as well)..I thought I'd share....

You know... from one "bad" photographer to another...

Okay, so here's one.  I'm trying to keep it a little more realistic.  I may try one a bit more radical as well, just for giggles...

Krob78, very nice, nice depth.

mycanonphotos you got my vote.

THANK YOU for posting these
picture, please post more.

I too like the extreme and
"within the nature of the art
that is HDR photography".

Please hang around and post
more, HDR section has this
strange problem of attracting
a large anti-HDR crowd that likes
to just poke the novice, or
anything different.   :-\   ;D

Sheesh !  Not everyone can be
an expert right off the bat, but
we need someplace to post
and TRY.

......................If I wanted bland
pictures, I'd just mount my camera
on my car and drive around and take
pictures.   :P ;D ;)

Again, thanks for the "My kind of HDR" it's a great start!

Shot about 30 minutes before sunrise.  Canon 5D Mark III and 24-70 2.8L II lens, on a tripod, using mirror lockup, a remote shutter release and 5-shot bracketed exposure.  Initial tone mapping done with Photomatix Pro.

Nice colors, depth in the sand is nice too.

WOW!

I don't feel so bad now...and I thought my pictures (like this one of mine) were crappppy, over done, blown out, excrement shots ...

I wonder what the rest of their shots looked like?  Were they all bad?

Maybe the guy was mad at them?

Sad though, that is a one day event, can never truly get that day back.

I'm sure you are what I would call a professional  photographer.  I can only wish I:

a) Had enough money to pursue such a neat passion.
b) Training / education / experience to be that good.
c) Posses enough talent to be that good.

Great shots, thanks for share, and I really like these:

How her waist just disappears, that is freaking awesome!

... this one is just awesome!

Peace! 8)  from the poor boy.

P.S. If you're throwing away any photography gear, please PM me, I'll take anything. ;)

Remember is supposed to be

blown-out
blurry
over exposed
burnt
double exposed
triple exposed
highlighted to the extreme
etc.
... one I did two weeks ago,
... was steamy hot and a heck of a
hike to this small water fall.
But well worth it.

Again, thanks for the tips, and advice.   :)

As for the convert from RAW to JPEG, are you sure you don't lose sharpness?
I could have sworn I saw some sharpness drop off, but then again, I'm making
use of a large 46" Plasma monitor and maybe it's just my monitor and old eyes.   ???

Lastly, thank you very much to all the Canon Rumor folks,
such a great bunch of folks, I just came from another forums w
here they're rude, pre-madonna, and down right mean.

Cut a novice some slack will ya?   :-\

Software & Accessories / Magic Lantern Questions
« on: April 11, 2013, 05:25:49 AM »
Howdy folks, it's me again  ;D

Searched Canon Rumors and the last
thread about Magic Lantern was back
sometime in October 2012.  So not to
necro an old thread, I started a new.
Please excuse me if this question is
already answered, but searching CR
for Canon 60D + Magic Lantern +
SDHC UHS-I, was fruitless.

According to a web quote:

Quote
"The Canon 60D accepts SD/SDHC/SDXC
memory cards, and does not ship with a card.
Canon recommends a Class 6 card or faster for
recording HD movies. UHS-I compliant cards are
supported, but the camera does not
take advantage of their increased bus speeds
."

Quote
"Note that the Canon 60D manual says
"SDHC and SDXC cards featuring UHS (Ultra High
Speed) enable a maximum writing speed of SD
Speed Class 10". We asked Canon for clarification
on this, and they said the Canon 60D is
not UHS-I compliant
but should work with
UHS cards at up to SD Class 10 speeds."

Would installing Magic Lantern on the 60D
allow the camera to take advantage of the
UHS-I (Ultra High Speed-1) write capability
of the SD UHS-I card?

Thanks in advance for any advice, tips, or tricks.

Lastly, how hard is it really to install ML and is it really worth it?

Peace! 8)

Why is there a line in the middle of the sky, sort of like there is a yellow square in the middle of the second one?

Other than that, welcome to the forums, and glad you choose the HDR section to post.

Peace! 8)
