EOS Bodies / Re: New EOS-1 in 2014 [CR1]

My dad has been waiting forever to replace his 1Ds Mark III since he wants a 1Ds instead of a 1D, but cameras are so expensive to replace anyways T-T I'm currently using a 5D Mark II and I'm going to be interested in upgrading to a 1D Mark 4 when the 1DsX whatever comes out. :D

EOS-M / Re: EOS M replaced my 5D kit
« on: August 06, 2013, 11:44:09 AM »
My M didn't replace my 5D2 either. I really like my M because it's smaller, still have to put it in a bag, so it's slightly less convenient than my point and shoot, but I like the M since it's higher quality and better than my point and shoot in general, it's made me more confident to bring my camera with me and take pictures in situations like when using a point-and-shoot would be wasting the scene and it was too inconvenient to bring my 5D2.

I love my M  :D and I hope that Canon will continue developing it ^-^

And the point and shoot it replaced was a Nikon S9300. My family always has a tendency to buy point and shoots in Nikon and DSLRs (and M) in Canon and now we have a perfect Canon set whenever we go on trips. :D

EOS Bodies / Re: POLL: What will be the 70d's price tag?
« on: June 30, 2013, 01:27:00 AM »
I feel that the camera should be in a $1100-1200 price range, but knowing Canon, they'd bump it to like $1600. So that was my guess.

PowerShot / Re: Canon France Denies Large Sensor Compacts

Canon is not overly happy with us at the moment, especially one specific country (not France).

It's ok, it's only France. No harm no foul.

EOS-M / Re: How many people actually like the EOS-M?
« on: June 22, 2013, 12:23:06 PM »
I spent almost $1,000 on it, camera, flash and all. I "HAVE" to love it. T_T

Don't get me wrong though, it's easier for me to bring to school instead of my 5D2 for when I have photography assignments. My only problem is that whenever I plug in a flash, it takes a decently long time even with the batteries fully charged for the flash to start working.

EOS-M / Re: To buy M or not to buy M?

I'm pretty sure if I didn't have a 5D2 to use, I'd be about ready to throw my M against a wall. Usually it just sits in the cabinet as I lug around 20 lbs in equipment to school. Understand IT'S NOT A DSLR replacement. It's a great camera if you look at the camera what way. It focuses about how fast a point and shoot would be. It has a lot of fun features (profesionally I don't use them but taking pictures with friends, it comes in handy).

It's a great camera overall and with the recent $400 Ebay M with 22mm lens, I'd TOTALLY GET IT AGAIN. HAHAHAH I got it when it was $720 though.

Got my pitchfork ready. Any other 1st Generation EOS M owners want to join me in angrily marching on Canon's Headquarters?

 >:(
I don't understand... Could you explain? This is not sarcasm or trolling.... I really don't understand and hope you can explain it to me.

Got my M back in January because I was hoping that the firmware would be able to fix up the autofocus, but turns out it couldn't. T_T

If I had the camera and I needed the lenses, there wouldn't be another fire put I'd rather throw all my money into :D

But alas, I don't, so to me, that's just a whole lotta money for lenses.

WUT WUT. I just got my M though. T_T If it's like a M-pro, I'm going to cry.  >:(

I think it will be... so cry now.  :D  You'll cry even more because it will have a swivel screen + EVF + a little bit more buttons.  :D

Not a fan of the swivel screen I see on my friend's cameras.

BUT DAMMIT I LOVE BUTTONS. T_T And I really need the viewfinder because I've been smashing my face onto the screen of my M thinking there's a viewfinder.

Reviews / Re: Review - Canon EF 50 f/1.2L

I'm sorry but, the only reason the 50 1.2 is so highly regarded is because Canon intentionally leaves the 50 1.4 as such a piece of crap.  It is a classic "entice to upgrade" tactic.

I loved my 50 1.4 :[ I'm a 12th grader, so when I started photography, my dad gave me the 50 1.4 and the 85 1.8 (both of which were amazing taking pictures at the school play I went to last night) and I thought that for the price, the 50 1.4 is a really great lens.

I think the assumption that the 50 1.2 is highly regarded reflects over the entire L-prime lines and not only the 50. Ignoring the fact that it costs a kidney. T_T
