Pricewatch Deals / Where are European rebates
« on: April 17, 2013, 04:17:20 PM »
USA rebates, USA rebates... Discounts in US shops days after days. Almost nothing in Europe.
Prices in euro equal Prices in dollars despite Euro values more than dollar... and son on.
I feel like Canon is doing commercial discrimination towards european customers.
Do you ?

Lenses / Re: Photozone has released their review of the Sigma 35 1.4...

Is photozone credible after their missed 24-70 II review.

This zoom is said the best ever made in its category in some reviews such as Dxomark. I trusted photozone.
I doubt.

Lenses / Roger Buys a Camera System: A 24-70mm System Comparison
« on: February 07, 2013, 03:09:12 PM »
An interesting point of view.
The lens can't do all the job. Canon has to wake up and sell better SLR. The best zoom lesn (Dxomark) underperforms on Canon SLR vs Nikon's.

"But if you want to look at it another way, the Tamron on a D800E is about the resolution equal of a Canon Mk II "on a 5DIII — a bit sharper in the center, not quite as sharp in the corners, but pretty even. The Tamron-Nikon combination (for a guy like me looking at shelling out some major bucks soon) is $1,000 cheaper than the Canon-Canon system."

good IQ that perhaps started with the 50/1.4 from Sigma

On FF, 50/1.4 from Sigma is worth than Canon

With my 7D, I can do 18 Mpix to Gpix.
What else. If you want high resolution, slice your scenery into small parts and shoot. Then use pano tools.

Nikon will never reach the lens quality of Canon.
24-70 II is an example of perfection. Lenses do most of the Job. So keep going with Canon and don't be abused by Megapixel war. Canon is also preparing a large megapixel sensor.
This post is a troll.

10-22 / 24-70 II / 70-200 f4 IS for my 7D

I attended a photo lesson : 6 canon (7D) / 1 Nikon.
Teacher, a famous landscape photographer, had a 7D and wants keep going with Canon because Canon produces the best lenses. 24-70 is to his point of view the best lens ever made with a performance even better than 50 1.4 at 50 mm.
So don't be abused by Nikon marketing. Nimber one is Canon for a long time and the 35 Mpix is a mirage.

Lenses / Re: POLL: When will the 24-70 mk2 really be delivered?

I've just bought the new  tamron 2.8 VC  after having sold my 24-70 mark I.
For half the price the canon mark II I got the "very rare recommanded lens" label by Photozone for my 7D

I'll buy the next canon 24-70 IS when it will be ready. No doubt we'd see an IS release in 2013. I'd sell my tamron lens at this time.
