This just sounds like a sensor test body, not the full camera, using the current af from 7d and just used to test the sensor.

I think you would be better off with the 7D, I prefer the AF on the 7D vs the one in the 1d mkiv.

Hello chasinglight I use the 7D for wildlife shots and I use Center-point AF and AI servo set to Slow and if the background is clean then I use center-point expanded.

I used to have a K5 and I can say its extremely weather proof. I went backpacking for 4 days and it rained for 3 and I just left it out side my tent, I also used to wash it under the tap lol
