I definitely think you should publish all the information on the 1DX mirrorbox problem.  I sold my 1D Mark IV in order to upgrade to a 1DX but after receiving and returning 2 brand new units (both with serial numbers later than the published affected range) which exhibited oil splattered all over the sensor, I lost faith and have returned to shooting with a 1D Mark IV.  If Canon is disingenuously withholding information about this problem I feel I have a right as a consumer and as a loyal Canon customer to see that information.

Thanks guys for the helpful posts.

TexPhoto, I've used the 300 IS I before, loved the IQ but its a bit of a beast.  The sigma looks a lot more compact, would you agree?

Has anyone got any experience of using this lens for field sports (with and without 1.4x and 2x converters)?    I'm considering it for use with my 5d Mark III.

What do you think of the lens compared with the Canon EF 300 F2.8L IS II USM? Would also be great to see any in-depth reviews from a sports shooting perspective if anyone has seen any.

Dual CF cards for backup and peace of mind and to avoid the poor write performance issues of the 5d Mk III when shooting fast bursts with a CF and SD card.  Dual CF cards would be a definite plus.

Come on Canon, announce a 100-400 f/4-5.6L IS USM with rotating zoom!!

I bought my 5d mark III when it came out for £3K and don't regret it at all.  You will be getting a lot of camera for £2400 and that is a £600 discount from release price. How much do you want the price to reduce by?

Great shots and very close to the action.

I was fortunate enough to get a ticket for last Saturday, here are some of mine.
