I've just picked up a rokkor 58 1.2 PG to play with the A7 when I get one....just waiting on my EOS adapter for it currently... I love the old film lenses

My 50mm f1.4 is the same, and I feel a very disappointing lens purchase. It is my least favourite lens (that I still own).In the flash exposure menu, you can set flash firing to off. The focus assist will still work
Anyway, I know that you said you don't want to use flash to light your scene but couldn't you just use the AF-assist beam. Flash power set to minimum, point the head off to the side (or behind you) so it won't have significant impact on the exposure?
Acoording to lightroom :
93.2% iso 100
6.1% iso 200
0.5% iso 400
0.2% iso 800 and higher.I usually shoot 3200-10000. I wish the situations I shot in were better, but it is what it isyup. In dives
Wow... Concerts ?
On a £4800 camera, specks in the viewfinder may not affect pictures, but it certainly raises my blood pressure.Mine's headed in for service. I definitely need to do it as the vf is filthy and the sensor keeps getting mucky.
Will see what Canon say
Please keep us updated, I should probably send mine in soon also and see if they will clean the prism area. Canon Canada has told at least two people that they won't clean this part under warranty. It is a big job to remove it and clean it and they claim it doesn't affect pictures which is true but still lame to look at all that gunk every time you put the camera to your eye.
I wouldn't recommend thin leather, it actually wicks heat very well-my leather gloves actually make my hands colder. a good synthetic pair will be much more effectiveMichigan State soccer at Akron:
Thanks Northstar. I haven't gotten to say it, but your sports shots are great.
I actually didn't do too well at this game. It was so incredibly cold and windy, and we had just had 65 degree weather, then suddenly down to 38 and windy. My hands hurt and I guess I just wasn't "into it." I only had about 37 keepers.
Oh well, next time right?
38 and windy will quickly take the fun out of it!
I've been thinking of buying a higher quality pair of thin and form fitting leather gloves that I could use during times like that.
^this. They could be announcing the new, amazing 1.1DX! Same price as 1DX at launch with working firmware.
Yes, it's only taken them like 10 years to dribble out working ISO. Every other maker has had it working even in Rebel-level lines. Why does Canon marketing need to make this some astonishing 1DX-level only feature? Nobody will actually buy the 1DX just for that so all it does is make Canon marketing look obnoxious and it antagonizes and already jumpy user base.
And why are the AF fixes not also coming out in an updated 5D3 firmware?? If 5D3 is supposed to have the same AF (other than the RGB metering assist stuff) why should it not get updated? While it does one shot AF very well, there are odd times that it does fail for AI Servo when you really think it maybe should not.
(granted it would be hard to install a new 5D3 firmware until ML got RAW video hooked into the new firmware though)
Well we got to the third response before someone took a negative point of view.
