Canon General / PHOTO RIGHTS IN CANADA (RECENT)
« on: Today at 09:46:11 AM »
I get a message after a event shoot...

"Also, my understanding is that when we hire a photographer for an event, photo shoot etc. that we own the rights to the photos, as we may want to use them in promotional materials etc. "

I'm here in Canada let me know I thought we don't loose our rights unless we actively give them away. I thought in general its used in good faith and if they would want to go on long runs of print material or the image becomes Iconic for them maybe talk about rights/ a per usage cost.

thanks folks for wading in.

chris

I am told it does well but will always give a slight motion blur without a tripod (say on less than bright days)

I have a bunch of MACRO uses as well but the 100 2.8 is far superior due to IS.

Anyone have successes with the 180 as a Portrait LENS, thank you guys

How Good is the 180 for portraits, out door long shots. I can get  a stellar oen for under a grad so just don't want a MEH lens if its horrid at AF, i guess say say it slow like the 50 1.8 mk II but if it gets focus will it be Tack sharp if all other factors are there (light, relatively static subject, LIGHT).

I have this combo 70 200 MKII and teh 2x III - much softer focus below F 8 but i was spoiled with the 70 - 200 mk II.

For such a meaty camera , teh 1DX shoudl have soem nice bells for pro usability - i.e.  easy fast wireless tethering to any computer or Tablet/touch thingy.

this is neat but doe sit do simple tethering if your shooting hand held
