EOS Bodies / Re: Anyone sad about no T4i/650D announcement

I think we'll see a 7D Mark II before the 650D, so it will be Big brother of the new sensor that they will all use.

Awesome, and damn at the same time. USA always has some great shows, but at least we got Photokina this year :D

The way I see it is that a few years ago, DSLR brands were constantly putting out something new. We customers were okay with it, but that's mostly because there weren't many choices and you didn't really care that much.

Today, we are the ones who want new technologies, faster and better, while the companies want to "delay" this for as long as possible; they know their stuff is good and we know it is as well, so there's no point of them upgrading what still competes very well with today cameras.

My 2 cents. The D800 and 5D MK III are surely coming in 2012.

The nikon rumors admin has commented saying that it is infact a joke. Followed by a lot of disgruntled nikon fans saying they will never use nikon rumors again!

Page 6 of the comments: "Okey this was a joke. It’s an old prototype…"

A hilarious joke at that.

Actually Peter's username is: [NR] admin, while the commentator is Nikon Rumors.

February 2008 - Canon EOS XT/350D + Battery Grip for 300€.

April 2008 - Got a new XSi/450D, sold the kit above for 350€, got the 450D for 420€ because of the bigger LCD screen and because I thought more pixels were better.

September 2009 - Canon EOS 50D, sold the XSi for 500€ as I got a free 75-300mm from some friend and put it in the kit. Got the 50D + 17-85mm for 900€, which was very cheap and the camera was amazing

January 2011 - Got a used 7D after months of thinking. Love it!

December 2012/Mid 2013 - Probably getting the 7D Mark II, or a 5D Mark III earlier. This is of course, assuming if the improvements will be worth the money!

I had a friend who went from the D80 to 450D, then D2h, 5D Mark II and then to the 7D which he owns now. What a cycle :D

I see Photokina as a perfect announcement for the 7D.

5D MK III before.

But then there's the Rebel..If it will use the 7D series sensor, then of course it cant be the first to use it, the attention and glory belong to the 7D. So perhaps 7D + 650D in Photokina. But Rebels get announced early in the year, so maybe...both together, and a 5D MK III in Photokina? Argh this is so confusing.

I'm probably upgrading to the 7D II if it has better high ISO performance and an improved AF system. The rest is just bonus.

What's Canon waiting?

Sony and Nikon have their FF models delayed due to the floods. And sure it's not 100% but it makes a lot of sense as factories aren't working at all, and won't be for the next few weeks/months. Nikon stated full production will return in early 2012, so they could announce a FF model only some time before, not 6 months earlier.

There's no need to rush and announce the 5D MK III. II still sells very well, and they just announced their most professional camera ever, along with new video products. It needs everyone's attention, and the 5D MK III most likely won't get an announcement before the 1DX is out. Maybe it will, but it definitely won't be available before it.

I also doubt it will be X. X stands for a merge, X stands for 10th generation and Xtreme. A 5D with more megapixels and 4fps wouldn't be that extreme  ;D

Lenses / Re: How much!?

It's not really aimed at your DSLR, nor entry level or the most expensive one. It's for the C300 and their next cameras.

$45k is indeed too much for most of us, but those in Hollywood who will need it will get it, or at least rent it. I don't see such a big deal in this, the beautiful primes come for $6800 though, gotta love it :D

35mm - please bring an affordable 35mm f/1.8 with better performance. The f/2.0 is alright but if they bring it out I'm gonna be first in the line

50mm - f/1.8 III? Maybe they'd do the same as with 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses, but the only one I think is due for an upgrade is 50mm f/1.4. Better AF and better f/1.4 performance.

85mm f/1.8 - I don't think we'll be seeing an upgrade for a long time. Perhaps f/1.4?

I don't think Mark II will have 45AF from (or improved) the previous 1D. More like a highly improved 19AF system, they still need to milk as much money as possible like all other companies.

18MP sounds reasonable, perhaps 21, definitely APS-C. I mean why would they switch the sensor already in the second version.

8 - 10fps is just amazing, I couldn't ask for more in this price range. Its ISO performance is fine at 3200, especially at concerts and sports, though sometimes it's a bit too noisy. One stop improvement would be really nice!

I don't think Canon will announce any speed monster before Olympics, 1DX should have its glory for a long time.

Photokina would be the best place to announce it, along with a 650D and 5D Mark II some time before that.

Perhaps a lens, printer or just being able to play with the latest toys.

I don't think there will be any announcements before March. Perhaps 5D Mark III from March - June, then the 7D with 650D at Photokina. Or in that order.

24 -30 megapixels, 5fps, max ISO 102,400. Just random guessing like always ^^

Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors capable of delivering approximately 17 times more processing speed than DIGIC 4

Having the same MP as the 7D, shouldn't this camera have say... 17 times faster burst rate?
;D Now... before anybody shoot me, let me make it clear that I'm not asking for a 136 fps. I personally think 14fps is just right. I just like to know how the 17 times faster processor being utilized in this camera.

Its sensor is 1.6x larger. It shoots 12fps and even though 4 may not sound as a big difference, it is. It also takes care of chromatic aberration and distortion.

Though it does seem a bit funny, 17x faster, and there are two of them..The Digic IV takes care of metering systems, but hey, as long as it's a good camera :)

Edit: Canon states Digic V+ is 3x faster than Digic V. If they mean the P&S's cameras I understand, but I dont recall seeing V in a DSLR??

EOS Bodies / Re: What else will they do with that 18MP FF Sensor?
« on: October 18, 2011, 05:24:10 AM »
I think it's going to be 21MP+, especially if Nikon comes with a 36MP camera. The good news is, now that 1D is "out of their way", 5D Mark III is the next pro model to be announced :D

Indeed, +1! The specifications seemed a little bit unusual but it's a new line, and you showed it to us before Canon.

Keep up with the site!
