I'm quite happy with my 8-16 sigma. More expensive than the 10-18, but 8mm makes the difference.

It looks like a 7DII without pop-up flash :)

You have to use the Canon application Map Utility. It is available in the CD normally.
I have never used it myself, I just read that in the user manual...
Good luck!

Mt Spokane has nine. Is that the most you can get?
I don't get it. Is it only based on recent activity? Or on seniority (reg time)?
neuro - ~15k posts = 8 points
spokane ~10k posts = 9 points
Marsu42 ~5K posts = 7 points

I don't know if I've made myself clear: neuro has *less* boxes with *more* posts!
Yes it was clear :)
I just wanted to point that with ""only"" 5K posts you have just 1 point less than Neuro ;)

EOS Bodies / 7D Mark II ISO ramp-up on final version
« on: October 27, 2014, 06:38:35 AM »
Focus Numerique, a french gear reviewer, has put his hand on a final version of the 7D Mark II. They have made an ISO ramp-up and the raw files are available. The other test images (available on the other pages) were done with a prototype version.
Here is the link (sorry, it's in french...)
And don't look at the typo on the sensor's size and definition of the Alpha 77 II...

Sandisk extreme pro  HSII 64G SD card - 250MB/s write speed, $230

The 7D MkII seems to be only compatible with UHS1 and not UHS2 as the latest Sandisk SD card is. So the Write speed seems limited to 95MB/s and not 250MB/s...

EOS Bodies / Re: Pick between two options for the Canon 7D II
« on: June 25, 2013, 04:04:02 AM »
7DII : Sport / Wildlife => speed, speed, speed.
AF must be fast and accurate even on moving objects.
High speed exposition so High ISO capability is a must.
High FPS.. Of course it is needed!
So, definitly, the second option is mine.
High MP is important to be able to crop and gain even more reach. But this can be obtained by choosing the right lens, while for high ISO and FPS, the lens choice can not do a lot of things...

If you have an Android device with OTG USB connector, you may use DSRL Controller (Beta) application with the Wifi passthrough feature. It seems to work great with EOS 5DII. It is lighter than a notebook.

I didn't really catch yet the 'baseline' concept, I need to work more to well understand.
