Don't know if you've heard of him, but Nathan Williams is a well known cave photographer down here in the TAG (Tennessee Alabama Georgia) caving area.  He has some excellent work, and he will usually share things with you too.  I've met him a few times visiting Tumbling Rock Cave, where he lives in a close by house.

I've been here, the near 400' "Topless Dome" at Tumbling Rock Cave.  Tallest underground dome in the US.  Picture was taken with a helium balloon with lights attached with multiple exposures

Having been around for a year and a half on this forum (usually reading daily), I can say that it is fairly civil until the last few months.  There are many people coming to the site that normally wouldn't with the release of the 5D in search of answers or sometimes to bash.

Things will settle down soon enough.  The 1DX being as highly priced as it is, won't have as many whiners gravitating to the forums.  Then the next 7D will be released....

This site gives a little more technical information as to what the manual sensor cleaning is actually doing.  The camera is looking for dead pixels/bad pixels and storing them in a table so that it can interpolate that pixel.

One thing to keep in mind (for manual focusing) is that the amount of turn between 3 meters and infinite is only a few millimeters.

I don't know if their order numbers are incremental, but mine ends in 649XX

I got a confirmation email at 11:25pm CST (very early) for a body only.  I hope to see a "packed" status change in the next few hours.  I didn't order fast shipping though.  They are probably packing the overnight ones first to try and get them out on time.

Meh, the audio was very directed.  I think it is too hard to tell the difference in the video.  I've read that there is a nice distinctive difference though.

I noticed a similar effect related to the 60Hz rate and the 59.94 fps rate of my 7D.  Because the rates are so close, you can see my clock updating the time in "slow motion"

I am going to wait for B&H, do not really want to pay taxes.

Most state tax codes still make you responsible for paying taxes on items that dealers do not charge tax for.  Might as well get the taxes over with.
