Software & Accessories / Storage and Backup solution advice.
« on: April 27, 2014, 03:43:30 PM »
Hello, I'm looking for a definitive Storage and Backup solution.
So far I've been looking on to Drobo 5D or N, LaCie 5big Thunderbolt™ 2, or LaCie 2big Thunderbolt™ 2.

Networking would be a plus but not a must. I'm open for other suggestions and also wonder if these systems can be considered backup since they are ready for single or double disks failures.

Thanks.

Software & Accessories / Photo Backpak
« on: April 26, 2014, 01:41:45 PM »
Hello, I'm looking for a good & lightweight photo backpack that would provide easy access to the camera and lenses with a good "hip strap". My hear would be a 5D mark III, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 16-35 2.8, Gitzo 1227 MkII , filters, batteries and maybe space for light clothing, water, snacks... And another backpack with all of the above plus a 24 TS a 580EXII and a Mackbook air 11".
Thanks.

Photography Technique / Advice for trip to Western USA
« on: April 03, 2014, 03:12:09 AM »
Hello,
I'll visit the US on may 1st. I'll land on S.F. and the 6th I'll have 20 days to visit National Parks. I was thinking on Yosemite, Sequoia, Yoshua tree, Grand Canyon, Arches, CanyonLands, Bryce,  Zion, Capitol Reef...
I believe that is too ambitious for my time frame so I'll like to know which will you visit for photography and vistas I should not miss.
I'll appreciate feedback as to where I could gather that info. I remember there was a magazine published by a photographer and printed on news paper that indicated how to get to the best spots and the best times for the positioning of the sun. Anybody knows about it?
I'm also thinking if it will be worthwhile buying the alpha 7R for my 24 TS or if my 5D mark III will suffice to extract the most detail from those incredible landscapes.
Finally I would like to know small towns or cities worth stopping on the way.
I'm open to route alternatives and suggestions.
Thank you very much.

Hello,
I 'm trying to shoot stills with a 5d mark III and the EOS Utility Software with Elinchrome Flashes, but for some reason they do not fire when the camera is connected to the software through my Mac Book Pro.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Lenses / Focusing on L lenses vs LII
« on: January 17, 2013, 06:31:47 AM »
Hello, I talked with canon tech service about adjusting the focus of my 16-35L, 24-70L and 70-200L to my %D mark III and I was told that the micro adjustments of the 1DX and 5D mark III are only useful with LII lenses since it adds a third focusing parameter that the L series lack.
Is it true the there is not worthwhile adjusting my lenses?

Lenses / Help with 360º Panoramas
« on: January 16, 2013, 05:04:37 PM »
Hi,
I want to take 360º panoramas with my 5D. Can I use the sigma 15mm rectangular fisheye or will I need a circular fisheye?
If it can be done with the sigma 15mm rectangular fisheye, how many shots wilI I need?

Thanks.
