EOS Bodies / Hydroscopic coatings

After watching the BBC program Miracles of Nature in which a treated mobile phone was dropped down a toilet and survived, can we urge Canon  to consider weatherproofing bodies and lenses in the same way.
Consider shooting in a monsoon  and not having to worry about water damage.

I have the chance to  buy probable US import at £2200/US$3500 against uk retail £2999

Guarantee is sellers own 12 month.

Should I go ahead?

Lenses / Canon EF 8-15mm f4L Fisheye USM

My copy of this lens does not appear to have a date code. Have Canon stopped coding this lens or have they moved the position.  Serial no 8200000***. Could other owners check.

According to PlanetMitch 5D blog there is going to be a 5dIII as well as the C300 compatible DSLR.
The camera at launch was a restyled 1d body.
Only problem was no timescale was given.
