EOS Bodies - For Stills / How to take more than one photo on self timer with 5D Mk III?

Hi There!
I'm pretty sure that on my 550D I was able to set the self timer to take up to 10 frames in a row on self timer, but can't for the life of me find in the manual or on the camera how to do this on the 5D Mark III, I can only find how to take one single shot with either a 2 second wait, or 10 second wait. Does anyone know if this is possible at all?

Lenses / Help Choosing My Next Lens? :)

Just for a bit of fun, I thought I'd ask around to see what people would recommend as my next lens. You can see the lenses I currently own below I was going to get the 85mm ƒ/1.2L USM II, however I have been thinking lately that the 50mm might have me covered for a while, and I should get something drastically different to add more variety in my line-up.

Should I get a macro? Or Maybe a tilt-shift (If so, what focal length? I've read that the longer a tilt shift lens the more exaggerated the effect, however only the 17 and 24mm's are L series), Wait for the new 24-70? Or get something a bit longer 135 or 300mm prime?

Any suggestions are welcome! Budget is around $2,500 Go nuts! And thank you in advance!

Also worth noting that 300mm was one of my favourite lengths on film, and I'd love to have that focal length, however I don't think I'll be able to afford the ƒ/2.8 version, is the ƒ/4L still a good lens? Or is it aging now? How does it compare to the new 70-300? (despite the obvious lack of a stop)

Sports / AFL (Australian Rules Football)

Hi All,
There wasn't a thread here for AFL, so thought I'd start one, has anyone here taken any shots at a game recently? I took my camera there to Sundays Game (St Kilda vs. North Melbourne) and took a few shots, was pretty happy with how they turned out, but would love to see others stuff / constructive criticism As for process, they were all shot on my 5D III, with a 70-200mm @ 200mm ƒ/2.8, ISO 800, and a shutter of 1/800s. Post processing was mainly fixing the white balance, and boosting contrast, a little vignetting on some to highlight the action too! Thanks for looking










Also, while I agree spot colouring is a bit of a dicky technique, it's used a lot in AFL media, because a teams colours are their identity, and they love to highlight that

Lenses / Battle of the 50mm's (1.2L , ZE 1.4, ZE 2.0)

Hi All,
I've recently got my 5D Mark III, and got it with the kit lens, and in a months time I really want to pick up a good 50mm prime (I've come from film, and a good 50mm prime was the lens that stuck to my camera body the most), so I've narrowed it down to these three choices. I'm liking the 1.2L, as I was really quite impressed with the build quality of the 24-105 (I thought I'd hate it coming from all metal film lenses), and the fact that it has a bit of a larger aperture, and let's admit, it looks really nice too.

The other two options are both Zeiss, and I'm considering these due to their build quality (closer to what I was used to) and the fact they're manual focus only is a non issue for me, I'm quite used to it from when I shot film, and the 5D III's focusing screen is super bright, and very easy to MF in (even with the f/4 lens)

So basically, I'm just wondering what people who've maybe tried any of these lenses have thought and which you would reccomend I'm sure they're all fine lenses and I'll be just as happy with any, but would love to hear some opinions.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Quick Question about 5D Mk III LCD Screen

So, I got my 5D Mark III w/24-105 kit lens last night! Wow! Absolutely in love with it, from the very first picture I took I was instantly impressed and could tell the difference night and day from my previous camera, 550D/T2i. It feels good to be full frame, and the focal lengths on the zoom make sense to me now as they're exactly the same as my film cameras.

I just have one small question about the LCD screen, does it have a protector on it that can be replaced if it gets scratched like the Mk II? Reason I ask is that it looks very different to the 5D II and my 550D in pictures as the glass doesn't cover the Canon logo on the back, and I'm not sure whether I can replace it if it gets scratched or I should invest in a screen protector.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Does Canon test lenses with bodys in Kits? (i.e. 5d III with Kit lens)

Hi All!
Have heard a lot of talk about micro adjusting lenses and how sometimes your lens and camera aren't calibrated together and need to be sent in to be calibrated or micro adjusted. I was just wondering if Canon tests their lenses with their bodies they ship out in kits to make sure they're a good match or do they just grab one of each, put them in a box and send them off? Just curious!
