Lighting / RPS vs Pixel King Pro
« on: September 05, 2014, 12:46:10 AM »
Hey all,

I recently purchased some Pixel Mago flashes and realized that they don't play well with my PW Flex/Mini system.

I tried these http://www.samys.com/p/Remote-Transmitters--Slaves/RSRT10C/Wireless-eTTL-Remote-Control-For-Canon-DSLR/142166.html and they work, but then I have to fumble through the camera menu to make adjustments to levels and such.... OR,

Do I spend, basically, double and get the Pixel King Pro triggers http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pixel-King-Pro-E-TTL-Wireless-Flash-TRIGGER-ONLY-with-LCD-Display-for-Canon-/281202092212?pt=Camera_Flash_Accessories&hash=item4178f368b4 and make the adjustments on the triggers instead?

I guess I am looking if anyone knows or has experience with the reliability of each or either. Thanks for any input you guys have!

Hey all,

I came across this flash and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. The price seems fairly attractive. Thanks in advance!!

Lighting / Old tech combined with new tech....

Hey all,

I was wondering.... I have an old Canon 300EZ flash and the PocketWizard FlexTT5/MiniTT1 triggers. Would it be safe to use the old flash with the PW's? Is there a voltage issue that I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance for any advice and help!!

Lenses / Lens Choice
« on: April 21, 2013, 04:29:08 AM »
Hey all,

With the rebates that are out there now, I have come across a dilemma for choosing a new lens.... Do I go with:

1) Sigma 70-200 OS, OR
2) Canon 70-200 USM...

Yes, if $$ were no object, the Canon 70-200 IS II would be a no brainer... BUT it is. The main differences I see are the lack of IS for the Canon and it being an older lens design/technology. The Sigma does seem to focus a bit slower, but how is it in real world use for sports and fast action? I would be using it on a gripped 7D.

Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Lighting / Flash Mount
« on: April 05, 2012, 02:20:47 AM »
Hey all,

I have a 430 EX and I REALLY hate the twist lock mount it has. I was thinking, does anyone know if the mount from a 430 EXII can be used as a direct replacement for the hideous mount that I have? Thanks in aadvance for any help you can provide.

Lenses / Canon 16-35L II vs Tokina 16-35 vs Sigma 17-50 2.8 lenses

Hey all,

I am trying to put together a "wish list" of lenses, and am considering these 3 for the wider end of the spectrum on, currently, a 7D, and possibly a ff somewhere down the road. Anyone that has experience with these compared to each other would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Lighting / Using multiple flash cords for speedlights
« on: November 23, 2011, 01:14:15 AM »
Hey all,

I recently came across an off shoe cord that also allows a second flash to be mounted on the hot shoe position, as well. My question is this; I know it is possible, but are there any concerns that I should be aware of if using a second cord to mount a second speedlight off camera? I currently use a 7D with an OC-E3 and a 430EX. I was thinking of using another cord and get another flash to assist in flashed HS football photography so I can drop ISO and/or increase refresh rates of the flash.
