Lenses / 70-200mm f2.8L IS II Repair
« on: August 07, 2013, 03:57:09 PM »
Hey there,

I have an EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS II lens that all of a sudden started rattling. Even just moving it around gently, you can hear the rattling, and if I look through the rear of the lens, I can see a ring that's shifting around. My best guess is that it's the IS module that's somehow come loose or something. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this, and how serious it is. I generally prefer to send all my repairs into Canon, but if it's as simple as opening the lens and tightening a few screws, then I might consider taking it to a local repair shop.

Thanks in advance,

Hey there,

Friend sent this article to me, and I figured it would be of interest to a bunch of people here. While a rather subjective and specific test, it's an interesting one:

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Odd Canon 5D Mark II Glitch...
« on: June 25, 2012, 10:11:56 PM »
Hey there, just noticed an odd glitch happening with my 5D MK II... I've never had much reason to pay attention to EXIF data coming out of this camera, but today I happened to look at the serial number. Interestingly enough, the serial number that Lightroom 4 is showing me doesn't match up with the serial number on the bottom of my camera.

In case it's relevant, this camera was a rental unit at Flashpoint Photography Rentals in Vancouver for a number of years. I'm a productions manager there and we bought the camera new from a reputable retail store. I used this camera many times for the past two years, until buying it from work when the Mark III came out.

Any ideas how this would have happened?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Some 7D Punishment

Figured everyone would enjoy this video of some 7D abuse. Video is rather pointlessly long, but I would recomend watching till the end!

Hey there,

Trying to do a setup with 14 or so 5D Mark 3's all taking a picture at the same time, and downloading their images wirelessly to a single computer. Anyone know if this can be done reliably? Was planning on doing the triggering with pocketwizards (I'm familiar with them, and know that they'll work), but it seems like this would be the best option for downloading the pictures.

Lemme know if you have any thoughts!
