Hi everyone. Not too sure if this belongs here but I figure a lot of people have been doing video with their DSLRs so for what it's worth, here's some information. I've been looking everywhere for a decent case to go my Tascam DR-40 audio recorder and I've found it! The Pelican 1040 micro case. Had to add some small pieces of foam to make it nice and snug but even without them, the DR-40 fits pretty well in there.

Just got my new camera plate from RRS today. Since there are no pictures of it online even from RRS, I thought I'd share a few. Enjoy


























IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Some users are reporting serious issues with their plate.  Does yours have the issue shown here?

I just checked mine and it shows the same "issue". I wonder if this will severely affect damaging the camera body...
Mine already has a small faint line on my camera body... grrr!





UPDATE PART 2:

Just received the Rev A of the B5D3 plate... unfortunately, doesn't look like too much have changed... I still feel like that shelf corner is touching the camera body except it's lower profile now... Why couldn't RRS just have removed the shelf entirely? Anyone else still a little disappointed?

5D MK III Sample Images / 5D Mark III Nighttime ISO Comparisons

Here are some more ISO comparisons for those that are interested. Both images are at 100% crop. One shot of the stop sign outdoors and another of the parking garage in my apartment complex.

Lens used was the kit 24-105mm f/4L IS USM at 24mm

EOS Bodies / 5D Mark III and 1D-X Screen Size

I understand that the 5D3 and 1DX has a 3.2" screen diagonally but since I'm not math wiz, what does that translate to in terms of Width x Height?

If anyone already has a 5DIII, can you measure also the extent of of the screen in terms of the glass and not just a viewable area? Thanks!
