EOS Bodies - For Stills / Lens for European Trip

I am planning for a trip to visit cities in France and Italy in a couple of months. Would love to bring all the lens I have, but most likely will be one. I am narrowing it down to EF 24-70 v1 or EF 24-105. Will accompany 5D3 and getting XA20 when release in June. Weigh will be a factor, that's why I only want to carry one lens.

Thought or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Lenses / How good is 16-35 f/2.8 over 17-40 f/4?

I've been using the 17-40 for about a year now, mainly landscape, and been quite happy with the result. I'll be traveling to Europe this Summer and would like to continue to use the 17-40, but for indoor situation, would the 16-35 be worth twice the price as the 17-40? Should I make the upgrade? Thanks for your help.

Lenses / 70-200 for trip to Vegas and Grand Canyon

Packing for a trip to Vegas and Grand Canyon. Just wondering if it's worth taking along the 70-200. Trying to keep down the weight. Any thought?

Taking: 5D3, 17-40 f/4, and 24-70 f/2.8.

Speedlites, Printers, Accessories / Flash transceiver

I have a 5D3 and a Speedlight 430EX. Is it possible to set up a wireless connection between the camera and flash without adding in separate transmitter and receiver? I had a 7D a while back and I was able to do a wireless set up, but not on the 5D3 for some reasons.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / File name and color space settings in 5D3

Currently, I have the file name set to 5D3_####. I noticed that whenever I set color space to sRGB, then the file name appears as before. However, whenever I set it to Adobe RGB, the file name would appear as _D3_####. In another word, the first digit turns to _ whenever I set to Adobe RGB.

Does anyone know why and how to correct this?

Canon General / Authorized and unauthorized dealers

I am seeing big discount, i.e. 5d3 or 1dx, from the unauthorized dealers (sold on Ebay) vs. the authorized dealers (B&H, Adorama, etc.)

What are the differences or consequences if I was to buy from the unauthorized as oppose to the authorized dealers?

I am looking to purchase a used 5D Mark III. I am trying to avoid picking up one that has an issue with light leak. How can I tell from the serial number of the camera that this is a new batch and does not have that problem?

I am contemplating whether or not to swap my beloved 5D2 & 1D4 for the 1DX. Not sure if the 1DX is worth the swap and the right choice. What do you guys think?

EOS Bodies / Dead pixel in video of 5D Mk II

Just noted a dead/hot pixel in my video, showing up as a white dot, on my 5D Mark II. 

Tried the manual cleaning for 30 sec. a few times already, but it's not working.  Anyone has any other suggestion on how to fix this.  For some reason, the dead pixel only appears on my video footage and not my pictures.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 5D Mark III vs. 1D Mark IV

I currently own a 5D Mark II. Great camera and I don't want to part it.

I'd like to add one more camera, but not sure if I should get the 5D Mark III or the 1D Mark IV. Main use for sport photography, but would also use for portrait and video.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

About to give up on my search for the new Canon 5D Mark III. Unless anyone out there can suggest of where to get one. Thanks in advance for your help.
