Lenses / tilt-shift question

I am looking to purchase either the TS-E 17mm or the TS-E 24mm.

I'm greatly leaning towards the 24mm. First, I already have the 14mm L II  for when I need something super wide. Second, I also like the idea of being able to use filters without having to buy into a Corkin or Lee system.

Can anyone with experiences with these two lenses give me any feedback or suggestions?

Lenses / lens recommendations for a vacation

I know, the least exciting type of post, but I would be very grateful for any advice on what to bring and what to leave behind.

This summer I had planned on going out with a pro-photographer, but he was unable to secure the permits in time. So, my wife and I are heading to Europe in a few weeks. We will be hitting London, France and Brussels.

My current kit:

5Dm3
24-105L
70-200L IS II
14L II
50L
100L IS

I will be carrying whatever kit I bring in a Lowepro Flipside 400AW.

I was thinking about taking the 50, the 70-200, 14, a monopod and one flash. The first two lenses are my favorite walk around combo. Any advice would be very welcome. Also: should I look into a second battery (I don't have a the optional grip)?

Lighting / Lighting advice

I have the 5DIII, The 600EX-RT and the ST-E3-RT. I have a full set of Gary Fong accessories but no flash stand or other modifiers.

I am looking to expand my lighting capabilities to take better pictures at home (portraiture, jewelry shots for my wife, attempts at creativity).

Reading through McNally's Hot Shoe Diaries, I was think of getting a second flash, a Lastolite Skylite panel and a stand to hold the whole contraption. Any thoughts, points, tips, advice or admonishments would be very welcome. Thank you in advance.

Lenses / lens problem

I may or may not have a broken lens.

I used the 100L last night and took a few pictures without any problem. I left the lens on the camera. When I picked up the camera today, I could hear elements in the lens loudly clanking together. I took the lens off of the camera and could see through the back aperture something moving. I mounted the lens back on the camera - after it focused on an object, it took a picture that looks like it focused ok and it is no longer making a clanking sound.

I tried calling Canon Support but they aren't open on Sunday. Is this normal or should I pursue this with Canon Support tomorrow?

DPP seems to produce much sharper images from 5DIII raws than Lightroom. However, DPP doesn't pack as robust a suite of editing tools as Lightroom.

For those of you using the 5DIII, do you
-just use Lightroom and work a little more aggressively on sharpening?
-use DPP to convert raws into TIFFs and then work with the TIFFs in Lightroom?
-use DPP and not touch Lightroom at all?

I can understand the need for / point of polarizing filters, but how necessary / useful are filters for everyday shooting?

Lenses / Lens advice: which prime should I buy first?

I finally made the jump from point-and-shoot to DSLRs with the 5dm3 kit. I am having a lot of fun with the camera and, even in relatively inexperienced hands, I am able to take gorgeous pictures. I would like to buy a fast prime for general purpose photography, i.e., walking around the city, the park, etc.

Would you recommend the 50mm L or the 85mm L? Or, should I go for a wide angle prime?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
