EOS Bodies - For Stills / How much does this cost?
« on: September 16, 2014, 06:14:18 PM »
Hi guys,

I am just curious how much does my camera cost?
95+% cosmetic
shutter counts 4720
and a
Canon 24-105 f4

They all brought together in July 2012.
The serial number is not having light leak issue.

I am just curious because I want to get the Nikon D810.
I am really sorry if this is spamming or violate of the rule somewhere that I am not aware of.

Canon General / Do you send your camera/lens to CPS
« on: March 14, 2014, 04:05:38 AM »
Hi there,

I plan on getting CPS Gold and Gold membership let you send in your camera/lens for calibration. I am curious if anyone has sent in your camera/lens for "maintenance" service and your experience with CPS? In my particular case, there is nothing wrong with my camera but I wouldn't mind if they clean it up. Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance

Speedlites, Printers, Accessories / Speedlite guide number question
« on: November 21, 2013, 06:43:23 AM »
Hey guys, I have a question.

Let's look at an entry 430EX speedlite, according to Canon, the 43 is the guide number (43 = f x distance in meter).

My question is why this entry speedlite has larger guide number than the pro class Nikon SB-910 (guide number only 34) let alone the 600EX which is almost double the Nikon.

Why is it so far off?

Thank you

Technical Support / How do I order print online?
« on: November 20, 2013, 02:22:19 PM »

(5D3 + 24-105 @105 f4) full raw

I shot this for a friend, who took it to officemax and had them printed 20x30
However there was 2 lines run across the eyes. The people at officeMax explained  the camera "didn't have enough resolution" which I considered insulting and ignorance statement.

So I order the same size print at Snapfish whose print has no line or resolution problem whatsoever.
But the color has yellow tint, cast. It doesn't have the green leaves as in the photo. I tried to view the photo from difference devices and they are all similar.

I requested a replacement and the problem was still the same.

So I wonder where do you print and how you scope with this situation?

Thanks in advanced

Lenses / 24-105 Resolution testing

I have a 19 inches LCD monitor.
Viewing this:
enlarging this file at 500%
and shoot this picture:

iso 1600
105 mm
IS on

exported straight from LR.
Any comments on resolution?

Software & Accessories / Do you have any interesting Lightroom preset?
« on: October 05, 2013, 07:20:10 PM »
I would love to have the additional canon profiles such as

in my Lightroom. Is there any similar presets so I can load to LR?

a) ISO 6400 and the metering shows -1
b) ISO 12500 and the metering shows 0
c) ISO 25600 and the metering show +1

You can only choose one.

Which one should give you the least noise or best quality given you can do PP?

Please share:
body name / lowest temperature / how long etc...

I hope we will all benefit from this info.
Thank you very much
