Video & Movie / Aviation Help! 5D 3 vs GoPro
« on: November 27, 2013, 05:38:06 AM »
Hi All,

I'm very lucky that I get a front row seat in an Airbus 320. I have started filming approaches and take-offs as the views some days are stunning. I would love to know from those of you who aren't lucky enough to sit at the front what you like from a cockpit video so I can produce something you like!

Please check out these 2 links

I'm using a Gopro and a 5d3, I have no idea the best settings at all for the 5d3, all help welcome! The Go Pro at the moment is looking so much better but is 1/10 the price!

Lenses / Advice 5d3, wide angle
« on: November 13, 2012, 05:16:12 PM »
Hi all,

I have just got a 5d3 after a few good years with a 50D. The Sigma 10-22 is APS-C so it's going on ebay.

I have the 24-105 which is a great lens and the 24mm is wide. But the 10-22 was wide.

So, the question for those have either, which would you do?

A)  Zoom Option, 16-35mm f2.8 mk2

B)  Prime Option, 24mm f1.4

C) Cheep Option, Keep the 24-105mm f4 and get the 50 f1.2!

Thanks for looking..

Software & Accessories / GPS, does anyone really use this???
« on: September 17, 2012, 02:54:03 PM »
Hi,

I'm not a Pro and after reading about the new 6D I'm left wondering if anyone uses GPS on their camera. What are the advantages what do you gain from it? I understand that it pin points a place you took a photo, but I can remember where I took my pics. Is there a commercial advantage to it?

Just trying to understand this a little more,

Thanks

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Which Camera & Lens - Aviation + Animals
« on: September 10, 2012, 04:05:05 PM »
I was about to upgrade to the 5D iii (currently have 50D) but just before I do I want to check with the many Pros and Arm Chair Pros on here if it would be right for me.

I want to shoot Aviation and animals, some landscape and Family (non portrait, just nice shots)

I can spend up to £8000 ($12000), however saving money always helps.

I have currently 70-200 L IS 2.8 and 24-105 IS L 4.0

The options then FF or not to FF. 600mm f4 or will the 400m F5.6 do it's a lot cheaper? Which Body? Which Lens? Extenders? (I had one 2x mk ii on a 70-200 and did not like the quality)

Any other combos you guys can think of????

Thanks for your time!

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 50D to .......?
« on: July 28, 2012, 09:42:31 AM »
Hi,

I'm the new boy in town, been reading the forum for years but now finally joined.

I have had a 50D since they first came out and love it to bits; however the time has come to get something newer. I use the camera for a wide range of subjects and have a few 'L' lenses. Attached is my Flickr if anyone is looking that closely at my uses.

I read all the Canon propaganda on new cameras such as the 5d mk 3 and the 7d.
Has anyone gone from the 50d to one of these?
Is the jump in technology that much more noticeable?
Is it worth the major investment? (and the week or so of wining and dining my wife before asking for one?)
If any has both and has some free time to show just how much the photos would vary I would be very grateful.

Kind regards, HWTN

Should this post be in the wrong place, mods please let me know and I will move it.
