Lenses / VC on the 24-70 f/2.8 VC

Hello everyone!
I just rented a 24-70 f/2.8 VC from Lensrentals.com and have been using it to shoot around Disneyland. One thing I'm noticing, and wonder if it may be just this copy is that the VC/IS, isn't nearly as good as I had expected.
I have extensively used a 7D & 17-55 f/2.8 IS combo, and the IS on the 17-55 seems at least a full-stop equivalent better than the Tamron's VC, closer to 2 full stops. I could handhold 80% of my shots sharp on the 17-55 at 1/8, but I'm only hitting about 20% sharp with the 24-70 @ 1/20th.
Has anyone else been able to do a similar comparison?

Lenses / Need an affordable 300mm

Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded from the 7D to 6D, and am looking to get some length back in my lenses. I had been using a 70-200mm f/4 IS, and liked the length at 200, so around 320mm on FF.
I will be renting for this go around, and then probably purchasing something in this range.
My thoughts are one of the below options:
Rent a 1.4x TC for my 70-200 f/4. This will give me a 280mm lens at f/5.6, based on ISO 12233 crops, it still looks pretty sharp, but autofocus may be iffy.
Rent a 300mm f/4 IS. Less versatility but a stop faster, and sharper.
Rent the 70-300L, good zoom range, sharp, but f/5.6 at 300mm.
Rent a 100-400mm, same speed as the 70-300mm, but the IS likely isn't as good.
If you've had a chance to use any of these options I'd greatly appreciate your feedback!

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Reikan FoCal Pro with 40 STM

Hello everyone,
I just started using the Mac beta of FoCal with my 6D. It worked swimmingly with my 70-200mm f/4L IS, and after 4 or 5 tries with my 50mm f/1.4.
However, with my 40mm STM, it has not worked at all. The COF during the focus consistency check is 97.1%. The analysis is all over the place though.
Has anyone got a 40STM to work properly with FoCal? If so, did you have to do anything special to get it to work?

Hello everyone,
I am going to pre-order a 6D. However, I don't know whether to order it locally or through B&H, Amazon, or other US dealer.
Speed in arrival is my key concern. Do Canadian stores usually receive cameras the same day as a company like B&H?
I understand Canon's no shipping to Canada policy, but I have a USA forwarding address I'm thinking of using. I have Amazon Prime shipping to this address as well.
In your previous experience, would I get it faster if I ordered from a USA store, or a Canadian store?

Hello,
I haven't used a SDXC based camera other than a Kodak PlaySport in years.
Is there a major detriment to using SDXC instead of CompactFlash?
I am looking at buying a 6D, but the SDXC cards are worrying me. Is this something to be concerned about?
