EOS Bodies - For Stills / Dead Pixels on Sensor and LCD - Canon Warranty?
« on: November 11, 2012, 01:50:40 PM »
I know dead pixels could be a pain in the a__... But i never got this very clear and explained.

I am looking for an official Canon link where they clearly explain:

* How many dead pixels should have a Sensor or the LCD to be accepted for sensor/camera replacement?

By the way... I know a dead pixel could be mapped when it appears just on a photo, but what happens when it appears in video? Can Canon service remap it?

Anyone knows if the remaping software is available anywhere?

Thanks in advance for your help.

EOS Bodies / Chinese Alternative BG-E11 for 5D III not as bad
« on: May 29, 2012, 09:23:46 AM »
Today I received a review  from the Ebay seller where I pre-ordered my grip for USD90 including shipping

The full review can be read at https://www.facebook.com/StudioLightingPro.EN

Some paragraphs I found interesting:

Quote
Hard to identify whether the grip is made of ABS Plastic or Magnesium Alloy.
The finish is identical to the Camera's finish and it feels fantastic in my "large" hands.

The wheel used to screw the grip into the camera bottom feels solid and securely screw in.It fits on the camera easily and looks like it belongs. It also makes the 5D III look and feel much more substantial.

All the buttons feel great, pretty similar to the camera body. Also the multi-controller button included on the grip works fine too, but to honest it's a little bit more sensitive to the touch than the camera one. You must get used to it.

They also uploaded some photos:

I can't wait to have mine  :D :D :D

Try http://eoscount.com

You'll have to use a 32-bit version of Internet Explorer and install an ActiveX control for communication with the camera. Then the control will read the shutter count from a 60D or a 7D right in the browser.

I just tried this and it really works with my 7D!   :) :) :) :)
