I've installed magic lantern v 2.3 for the first time on my 5D mark II a couple of weeks ago. When I was shooting the other day, the shutter control function and ISO function just stalled. Rotating the dials would not change the values. I had to remove and reinsert the battery to get the controls back again. Also, the same day, the vertical grip stopped responding. Again, I had to remove and reinsert battery to have it work again. I have never had such problems before. I am thinking it may be caused by the magic lantern software. I'm thinking about unstalling it for good. Did anyone else have such issues or know what may be causing this problem?

I found this seller on eBay selling new 5D II kit with 24-105mm lens + other accessories for $2399.99.

I actually bought the item from him 3 days ago, but the seller states the shipping time is 15 business days. I figured the worst that could happen is I don't get my item and file with eBay and get my money back. But not sure how long the eBay process will take, so I may not have my money for a while if something goes wrong.

I have been following the seller's activities for a few days and so far he has sold about 15 of these (according to his 'feedback left for others' tab. I also noticed he sells either 3 at a time or 5 at a time, and lists them again once its sold out. He has no prior history of selling expensive equipments. So thats where my suspicion comes from. He is registered in Australia, but item seems in to be California...hmmm. Anyway, what do you guys think, is it legit??

United States / Macro Lens vs Close up filters vs Extension tubes

I'm not really a macro shooter, but I like to have something in my arsenal so when necessary, I can shoot macro. Not sure if I want to drop over $400 for a true macro lens when its not going to be used very often. That being said, what are the major differences and trade-offs between Macro lenses, close up filters and extension tubes? I am leaning toward the Canon close up filter, but not sure if its the best substitute. I've heard it does not do 1:1 magnification. While I understand the magnification concept, how much of a real life difference does it make? Thanks in advance.

United States / Broken tripod collar

Hi all...

So my wife accidentally dropped my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II lens (in its case) and broke the knob off of the tripod collar. Is there any way to get this fixed besides getting a new one? I can't seem to find the original anywhere. Although there is one seller on ebay who just posted it but the item has heavy signs of usage which I don't like. My lens feels naked without it and I would hate to put in a non-canon ring on this beautiful lens. Please help!!
