Software & Accessories / What site do you use to host your photos?

Just wondering what some of you out there use to host photos online to show people? I don't use facebook, and I don't have my own website or anything but I like showing my friends some of the photos I take. I've been using Flickr but i want to see what else is out there.

Any recommendations?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Emergency wedding, of sorts.

So, long story short, a friend of mine is moving his wedding to a week from now (it was suppose to be 6 months away).  And he knows that I do some photography as a hobby and said he'd want me to photograph it.

I am in no way a professional photographer.

my gear: Just upgraded to the 6d, canon 17-40, Tamron 28-75 2.8, 40mm 2.8, 50mm 1.8, and a nifty lowelpro bag, so i don't mind carrying all my lenses. I also have a rode mic and a led light that I use for video sometimes, but i didn't plan on any video. So I don't exactly have professional gear. I mostly just do some landscapes, or some walkaround stuff when I travel. I'm a casual photographer, as I like to put it.

He says relax, have fun, take some candid photos. But I don't want to disappoint. Should I spring for an 85mm? or a speelight? I don't know when else I would use it, so I don't want to buy it for one day. Should I rent one?  Anything else i should keep in mind? Or specific photos I should remember to get? Not sure how I should approach this.

Lenses / Lens firmware update

Its my first time updating a lens firmware, I wanted to update the firmware on my 40mm pancake lens because its kinda loud when using with manual focus so I thought it would help, but on canons website it only has it for mac os 10.7 and I'm using 10.8. Would it not work if I just select 10.7 and download it anyway? I don't want to mess up my camera/lens so I've been hesitate to try it. Or do you think they'll have it for 10.8 in the near future?

Lenses / 6d Kit Lens

Hey ya'llll

Was anyone else surprised this morning when you saw the price for the 24-70mm f4. (I was expecting a 800-1000, not 1499)

I also heard there was a chance that it may be the new kit lens for the 6d. Any chance that it still might? Or will they keep the 24-105? I'm assuming because of the price they will.

Otherwise you're saving 600 on the lens when you buy the 6d. Unless they up the kit lens price.

EOS Bodies - For Video / Canon 6d for video?

I'm wondering your thoughts about how well the canon 6d will do with video? will the one sd card be a factor?

I love shooting photos and videos equally, I just sold my t3i, which was great for video. But the photographer side of me was bored with the camera, I wanted more. So I thought it was the perfect time to upgrade since the 6d is coming out.

However the 5d mark II is down in price. Should I go with the 5d and save the money for an additional lens? Do you think it will go down even more when the 6d is released in December?

I'm mostly set on the 6d, Although I wasn't entirely blown away with the video canon released showing the video features. And I also don't have any great lenses (except for the nifty fifty) so I will be getting the 24-105mm. I had a 10-22mm canon but sold it. I do love the ultra wideness. if I get the 5d I may get the 17-40mm, but with the 6d, its kinda too much.

Just trying to get the most bang for my buck, so to speak.
