I agree with brad-man and Marsu42, but I don't want to upgrade because I've only had mine for a month and am pleased
so far. I think stock of vs 1 will go quickly. The price of vs 2 will be the reason. As to when will we see this lens? Soon.
It will have no effect on sales of the new 200-400 lens as it is aimed at a different photographer than most of us.

Sigma has $50.00 instant savings on 50 1.4 and $75.00 instant savings on 85 1.4 posted on their website under Standard lenses. I just found it because your post made me go look because I thought you wanted them to make these lenses. I guess you want them updated. Why would they add them to an Art Line when they are Standard Lenses?

This and other posts helped me to decide on buying the 100-400 now instead of waiting to see what the vs ll will be like.
I saved Money with the instant rebate. I haven't had it long enough to find anything wrong. The pics are good and I think I got a good copy of this lens. I just need to practice with BIF pics. I'm sure when vs 2 comes out my wallet will be happy I bought when I did.

6D with 24-105 for around $2399.88 with rebate. F4 zoom is not optimum set up. You would have to learn your 50mm 1.8 very quickly for low light wedding photos. Then save for 70-200 F2.8 IS ll. As you already have SD cards, 6D is what you should research and possibly buy. Research what Cameras are in shops now, not wait for rumours to appear.

I tried the Kenko set of 3 Extension tubes and found they dropped flakes of black on the counter. I don't think I held my camera up so they didn't fall into my camera. $235.99 for a set of 3. You can use 1,2 or all 3 at once. A year later I bought a Canon 100 2.8 IS USM Macro lens with the Instant Rebate for $1,019.99. I got pics I would have never gotten
with Extension Tubes. I handheld the camera up close to a little flower looking through the view finder from a distance. I should have tried live view. I got better results with the lens than with extension tubes. Go to your favourite camera store and ask to try both the tubes and the Canon 100 2.8 IS Macro lens. Take rings for the test, just like you shoot for customers. Then go home and compare the images on your computer. I think this will help you choose the lens over the tubes. Personally I think the lens gets better pics than the tubes.

I just bought the 100-400 Zoom lens. I got it with the instant rebate that I think is about to end. I haven't had it a week.
So am not an expert on this lens. I am happy with the pics I have taken with this lens. I figure it's replacement if and when it comes out will be more than I am willing to pay and it will take too long for the price to drop to where I paid for my lens. In the mean time I will get lots of good use out of my copy and I may not replace it.

I picked up my new 100-400 Zoom on Monday April 22. I got it with the rebate. I think I saved more than $200.00.
We went to the river today (Tuesday) to see if I could get any Eagle Pics. I got some BIF pics of the Male Flying. Some were trash a few were keepers. I will get better over time. Practice, Practice, Practice. LOL I think I got a good copy of the lens. From what I saw on the LCD and computer screen when we got home, some pics are razor sharp. This lens is a Beast. It's heavy and your arms know they are carrying weight. I am going to leave home carrying less gear next time. I
may get to take more pics on Wednesday afternoon if we go to Rocky Point for fish and chips for dinner. I will have lots of
chances to retake pics I have taken before with my 70-200 with 1.4 Extender. I will let you know how I make out with this lens. I read online that the dust pump moniker may be an urban myth. I'm sure dust can get inside if you change zoom in dusty conditions. I will be wiping the dust off the barrel before I change length like I do with my 17-85.

I think you made a wise decision buying the 16-35 mm lens. You will get some really nice pics with it on you 5Dlll. It won't happen right away but as you get used to using it your results will improve. Put it on you camera and go to an outdoor car show and take pics. You will be able to get pics that look like they came out of a magazine. At Christmas you can take pics of lights on houses and get the whole scene with ease. Scenery pics will look better if you work hard to get a good composition. Its a lens I would be buying if I went full frame.

I was just on the Adobe website and read that Adobe no longer offers an upsell option from Elements. I don't think Elements has the same Full version of ACR as Lightroom and Photoshop. Something else to research.

I use DPP and PS CS 5.1. I have to upgrade to 10.8 from 10.7. When I've done that I will upgrade to PS CS 6. Every new
version of ACR that comes out has better raw processing. I've been using the Detail Tab to eliminate noise in my Pics.
You might want to check out Elements 11. For around $100.00 it comes with the latest version of ACR. Adobe will let you do an upsell to the full version of Photoshop. It is not cheap. It is up to you as to what version you want. Elements or the full version of Photoshop. Some Photographers use Lightroom and then finish up in Photoshop for the final image.
You could do a search: Photoshop Elements vs Photoshop CS. Or vs Lightroom to see what others think is best. DPP has
some good points to it and Canon is making it better over time. I use it to process raw pics so I can convert them to Tiff
and jpeg. I then send the jpegs by email to friends. Macs email will let to choose how large you want the attachment to be. Good Luck.

I'm glad I found this before it becomes 10 pages long. The new camera won't be aimed at any of us who own a Canon but
to future buyers. If it's got any features that are better than the 60D new customers to digital will find it fills their requirements. The forum chatter will continue chatter till something comes along to make us want to upgrade. Canon wants us to upgrade to Full Frame. We will because we have all this lovely glass and need a camera to replace what we have almost worn out or have grown out of. Some of us will go to the 5Dlll, it's replacement, the 6D or the 6Dll. I'm going
to use my 7D till it burns out. I will keep reading Canon Rumors to keep up on the various cameras as they come out so as to be ready for my day to upgrade.

I use both 1.4 ll and 2X ll Extenders on my 70-200 F4 IS USM lens. 70-200 + 1.4 is my walk around BIF combo. I find no
image loss with this combo. Using the 2X hand held the pics are a little soft but usable. Mounted on a tripod and live view
F11 or 16 and a cable release. I got a pair of Eagles in a tree that I use as my desktop pic. It was shot at F16 on a nice sunny day. I bought the 1.4 Extender with the 70-200 and used this for 2 years before buying the 2X. We will always want more reach with our lenses. LOL 2X is manual focus for me which wasn't easy with live view because of the light hitting the LCD.

You could try taking them in to the camera store where you bought them. They might have filter tools that can be used to loosen them. I had two rings stuck together once. I used pliers that opened wide enough to grip one filter that I put a lens cloth on and gently squeezed to stop movement and loosened the top one by hand.

There is supposed to be a big announcement from Canon on April 23.
If it is not about a 7Dll then go for the 7D which is an amazing camera. I bought one last August before the Vs2 Firmware
update. It was fine before and after the update and I am pleased with it. I agree with jrista and Don Haines and found what they had to say informative. I think from what I have read you will be happier with the 7D over the 6D in the long term. If you have a drawer full of Sd cards that you want to keep using then go with the 60D or wait for the 70D.
