I have a 270EXII and a 580EXII.  Obviously the 580EXII is far more capable, but I find the 270EXII to be "good enough" in many situations.

I use my 270EXII primarily for travel, and occasionally as a slave to the 580EXII.

Please, by all means, jump on this bandwagon!  The coverage is horrible and should rightfully be called out for what it is.

And I concur, looks like 14-24 to me...

I recently upgraded from a 450D that I'd been using for years to a 5DII.  The hard part was selling off my trusty EF-S lenses.  After using the Canon 17-55 2.8 for so long I was concerned that the 24-105L wasn't fast enough, but I haven't really had an issue with it being f/4.  Moving to FF you will capture so much more light that the smaller aperture didn't make much of a difference.

You can get amazing deals on the 5DII+24-105L combo if you don't mind buying used.  I got a low shutter-count combo PLUS a battery grip for just under $2000 on ebay, and the lens and body were in great shape.

I did the same as a few others have mentioned here- and picked up a 270EXII for my travel flash needs.  Works great.

I'm still getting used to the weight.  I lugged the 5DII + 24-105L and a Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 around Europe for 3 weeks and I was really happy to put the kit down at the end of each day.  Eventually I would just go out with one lens at a time, where with my Rebel I would be willing to carry a few.  After getting the 5DII I bought a Clik Elite Probody Sport to carry my gear on the go: my old backpack wasn't ergonomic enough to be comfortable carrying that much all day.

No regrets though, I'm with FF to stay.

A 7D or A 5Dmk3 is the camera you'd want. Tough as nails but also small with excellent IQ.

Doesn't anyone read?  He said he already bought a 60D.  Oh and there is nothing "small" about a 7D or a 5Dmk3 :p

I wouldn't get too hung up on L lenses either, especially if you are operating on a budget.  There are some great Sigma, Tamron, Tokina lenses out there that will really save you some $ over the Canon competition.  Just be sure to read the reviews on any lens before you buy it, if you haven't checked out these sites yet they're a great place to look for in-depth reviews:

I like the Voigtlander on my 5dII.  It is ideal for traveling light - and I find the sharpness to be pretty good (slightly better than my 25-105L I would say, except possibly wide open in the corners).

I find it to be a great focal length for street photography, and people are much less intimidated in front of this tiny lens.

It does sound very strange with the 5DII still selling.

Unless the "entry level" full frame is also a mirrorless camera.  That would be really interesting.

I'm also upgrading from a 450D - and decided to go with the 5D mk II.  You can get one refurbished or used for a little more than the 7D.  On amazon the 7D is about $1600 right now, in the Canon refurbished store the 5DII is $1760.  Of course you can find a used/refurbished 7D even cheaper though.

I have the Tokina and it's a great lens.  I've heard great things about this Sigma too, and if I weren't about to go fullframe, I would be getting the Sigma as well.

Fortunately, the Tokina works on FF at 14.5mm-16mm.  So, if you think you might someday go FF, go for the Tokina.  Otherwise I'd probably go for the Sigma, the wider aperture of the Tokina usually isn't used that much on such an ultra-wide-angle.

I have a lensbaby and think toy lenses in general are a lot of fun; some people just prefer to get a cool effect right out of the camera (that you can preview in the field) instead of more post-heavy solutions.

That said, $400 seems a bit steep.  Maybe you should just get the Composer (with double glass optic) instead of the Composer Pro and save some money.  The plastic body should be fine; it is not a lens you'll use everyday, afterall.  If you can find it used, that would be an even better option.

What is really interesting about this, is if you enter "Canon 5D mark IIII", with 4 I's you get the same:

"We're sorry! B&H does not have any information posted for "Canon EOS 5D Mark III" at this time. See below results for CANON 5D MARK II "

It also happens for "Canon 5D mark IIIO".  It seems that the algorithm first auto-corrects this to "Canon 5D mark III" and this triggers the custom error message that someone has intentionally defined.

I think the most surprising detail is the lack of a flip-out LCD screen.  I would've expected both a 5DIII or a 7DII to have that.  If this camera has a strong emphasis on video, wouldn't a flip-out LCD be a great feature for video?

And the 7D currently competes with the 60D because of similar sensor performance.  I would expect a 7D successor to have a flip-out LCD to stand tall above the XXD line.

I also think it seems unlikely that they would take away the pop-up flash for a 7D successor.  Yes, they are no substitute for an external flashgun but work great for fill-in when traveling light.
