I consider myself as "enthusiast", not because I want to look or compete with the PRO.#
I want the best gear that can provide best IQ @ the price I can afford.
A further update - I have just phoned my local John Lewis branch (Cribbs Causeway by Bristol). Customer services have confirmed that they are completely out of stock of the 70-200 f/2.8L II IS USM but could put an order in for me and the price of the lens, when it arrives, would be £1019. This is apparently now the current John Lewis price for this lens both on the internet and in-store.
+1I'm hoping Canon drops the Eos-M and pulls out of the mirrorless market entirely. That way, they can focus their R&D activities on improving and enhancing their DSLRs, camera features, sensors and lenses.
I'd have to disagree. I really like my EOS M, in it's own right, but also as a small/light backup body that integrates with my Canon system.
People would like to see RT added to the MT-24 replacement, especially since the MR-14 was just replaced with a second optical version.
Count me among those people.
Yeah me too!
Speaking of which, has there been any talk of a MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite replacement coming soon?
A good filter is as much an investment as the lens itself ... I always sell a lens without the filter and keep it for continued use on another lens.
Ditto. Even when I didn't think I'd need it, as was the case for the 58mm filter I had on the 85/1.8…then I bought an MP-E 65mm. OTOH, I do have a couple of 77mm UV filters currently unused, since Canon seems to be releasing new versions of lenses with 82mm filter threads instead of the smaller ones of their predecessors.
