It might be on the sensor.

Try using the in camera dust sensor cleaning option in the menu.

If that doesn't help LIGHTLY blow a little air in the camera with a little blower.

One that got me on mine was I saw a spec of dust and couldn't get rid of it. I realized it was in the viewfinder on the back.

Good luck

Lenses / Re: How about Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HS
« on: March 31, 2012, 10:06:25 AM »
I like the Sigma 50mm 1.4. I debated between the Canon and Sigma for a bit and ended up with the Sigma a while ago.

I didn't use it so much on a crop body but ever since the recent upgrade to full frame I really like shooting with it.

Here is a shot taken with it.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5DMK3 - Af question

I think the red flash is due to lower light scenarios. The subjects you are shooting can also see the red flash as well. It's kind of crazy.

The button placements are a little different/confusing. Hopefully if I understand you right this will help you along.

Turn the camera on, press the info button till you can see all of the settings that you can tweak on your screen. (ISO aperture, white balance ect...)

Once that screen is up, press the button on the far right corner that looks like a +.

Your auto focus point selection will come up.

To change between them press the M-Fn button near the shutter.

(not sure if that works in auto mode(green mode) because auto mode chooses for you. Try it in M, Av, or Tv.

It was a little soft, but not as bad as what others seem to be experiencing.

I also know DPP has some of the blame because images looked horrible in DPP. (I did the fix where I changed the setting in preferences and it looks better now but not as good as when I bring it into ACR.

I gave it a shot.

On my 24-70mm 2.8 I did the MA adjustment outlined here http://arihazeghiphotography.com/MA-web/

This is the result, I moved the wide angle -1 and the telephoto -1 for my lens.

Shot at 70mm 4.5, ISO 400, 100% crop. Converted from RAW to jpg in ACR and cropped it. Saved it as a jpg from there.

I focused on his right eye.

I did the ruler test as well.

Used mirror lock up and a remote shutter release and everything hits the mark. Canon 24-70mm, Sigma 50mm 1.4, ect..

Are you viewing these photos in DPP? When I import the photos from the camera DPP makes them look extremely soft. (I don't use DPP for anything other than downloading photos). So after I download them, I noticed they look very soft through the application. After I import to CS5 they are definitely not soft at all.

I have been using the Raw beta from adobe and it's been working fine in CS5.

I got my 5D Mark III yesterday. After shooting with it yesterday afternoon and this morning I have to say you couldn't pry this thing from my cold dead hands. I freaking love it.

I am jealous, my 5D Mark III was supposed to be delivered today but it's tied up in the post because somehow it "missed" it's flight.

I wasn't aware there was a Ferris wheel downtown Denver right now. What's that all about?
(Just realized that's probably 6 flags and I didn't know it was open already)

Nice shots by the way.
