Hey all,

Ever consider the Tamron? It has VC (Vibration Control) and goes for around the $1200 mark. Seen some impressive reviews on it, too!

Hey all,

No, I saw it. I was replying to you, in particular, about the non-compatibility of the two systems, that is all. Without the need for HSS, Second curtain sync, and ETTL, there are definitely less expensive options through the PW lineup... none of which are compatible with Phottix.

Hey all,

If you want HSS, ETTL, Second curtain sync... you need to look into the Flex TT5. Maybe the Mini TT1 transmitter, as well, if you want a dedicated trigger, not a transceiver.

Gary,

For a radio ETTL solution the Phottix Odin system is much cheaper has more functions and, especially with Canon flashes, is much more reliable than the Pocket Wizard setup. Radio Poppers also do a pretty good ETTL capable Canon radio trigger system that also seamlessly integrates with their studio lighting trigger systems too.

Hey all,

The Phottix Odin may very well be a better solution, but, unless I am mistaken, they aren't compatible with the PocketWizards that he already has.

Hey all,

It isn't their least expensive, but close... Yongnuo yn-560III... get this with their 602 or 603 transmitter added on top of your 622 and it keeps your ability to trigger by radio. All for @ $100! Built in radio trigger in a $75 flash is hard to beat!!

Hey all,

I am estimating that the rocket was @ 2, 6, and 7.5 miles from the launch site, which is about 7 miles from where these pics were taken. All edits done in DPP. I want to say around 80-90% crop on these. ENJOY!!

Anyone using/used this lens for sports?  I keep hearing that the AF is slightly slower, but nothing to really quantify that.  I currently have the canon mk 1 and am looking to upgrade.  But since I shoot almost exclusively sports, AF speed is/can be an issue for me.

Thanks!

Hey all,

The only sport I have shot with it, so far, is baseball. With the AF capabilities of the 7D, I had NO PROBLEMS keeping up with any of the action!
