Sounds great! I'm off to NYC this summer for a week and already told my better half were going to B&H. Luckily she's into photography and is interested in seeing the store as well. Don't think I'll buy anything too extravagant though, as I don't want to have to pay the state/city tax by buying in the store.

Yes saw that today when I was looking for a price on a lens. Not impressed. Means I'll have to go and check B&H and Photoprice each time (not the end of the world just inconvenient), because while B&H is very competitive on most items and they receive about 75% of business, for some reason certain lenses often are cheaper in Canada, even with the dollar at par.

I have the E2 hand strap and really like it. In fact for a lot of my shooting it's all I use if I'm going to be relatively stationary. I use my BlackRapid strap when I'm walking/hiking (zoos, parks, photowalks, etc).

me too! I am hoping for an end of April shipment! Hell we have been waiting since October 2011! Enought already!
If this is true, it's a good thing interest rates are low as B&H will have had your $7000 for two months with nothing to show for it for you!
While I'm waiting until May to pull the trigger on the 1D X, I'm still disappointed to hear this as that'll just push my order even further down the road. Although foolishly, I initially did say as long as I had one by September, I'd be happy.
But a guy can change his mind right? 
Not to mention all this 5D III stir going on, has me just itching for news and RAWs of the 1D X.

I have a BMO U$D card too and U$D account but it still costs money to change money unless you trade in the millions. 2.5-2.9% is pretty standard.
I bank with RBC and to transfer between my regular CDN accounts and my US account they charge 1.73%. But, better than that I use XE Trade and for $4000 US they charge 1.32%.
Obviously getting a camera right now in your hand rather than waiting a few days has a premium to it, but if I was ordering a 5D III instead of the 1D X, getting the 5D III from B&H would cost me total $3762.89 CDN (3713.87 US) versus buying it locally $4255.98 CDN. For almost $500 I can wait 4 days to get my camera.
Granted if you are in Ontario, the deal isn't quite as good because you guys have to pay the HST at B&H versus just GST like the provinces that don't have the HST.

I was watching Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski (KelbyTraining.com) talk about the LR4 bug issues yesterday or day before, and they said they upgraded their entire libraries and both had no problems. However, they have heard certain users reporting issues, however it sounds like people with issues are in the minority.
My LR4 upgrade is arriving for me tomorrow, and I'm going to upgrade. But before I do so, I'm going to back up my entire LR3 catalog (like I would with any important software upgrade).. I've been using the LR 4 Beta since it's release with NIK and Photoshop and I've had no problems.
With every software upgrade, regardless of the company, if the majority of people upgrade fine, there will still always be some users who experience problems due to a variety of reasons. This should not really shock us.

Henry's is selling for $3699 plus tax which comes in at ~4180 verses $3995USD * 2.9% = ~$4110
There is only $70 difference by my math.
Just a heads up MasterCard, Visa, and AMEX from the major Cdn banks all charge 2.5% to the best of my knowledge.
Because of that and not wanting to give 2.5% to the credit card companies for nothing when I travel to the U.S. and more importantly when I spend fair amounts of money at B&H, I got a U.S. Dollar Bank of Montreal MasterCard.
It costs $25/year, however, when you spend over $1000/yr on it, they waive the fee, as in it's free.
Since last summer I've placed all of my B&H orders using the card and I don't pay any credit card fees on the USD transactions. All I have to do is pay off my U.S. Dollar MasterCard when the bill comes with U.S. funds. I don't have an account with BMO so I withdraw the U.S. funds from my U.S. account at my bank in the form of a draft and pay then my M/C with it.
As for the 5D III, while I'm waiting for the 1D X, I know a couple of camera shops in Manitoba are announcing as of today they have the 5D III in stock for purchase off the street.

I know you say in another post you were not a jerk and just being realistic. Well realistically your statement above comes across like being a jerk.
If you don't like the way the OP asked his questions, ask him to expand on them in order to get an idea what he's after. Give him some parameters, whatever, offer to help or point him in the right direction. Don't just say come back with more educated questions, that's just plain rude and arrogant.

The 18-200 isn't perfect; in order to get a lens with a 10x zoom factor there has to be compromises.
I have the 18-200, I got it as a kit lens with my 60D. Because, well I didn't know any better at the time. It's not a bad lens stopped down. In fact I took it to Mexico this winter, because I wanted something easy to pack and carry around and I didn't want to take my other glass. In the end I was actually quite satisfied with the images (after post processing in LR). My overall impression of them was also influenced by the fact that I was pretty diligent about shooting during the golden hours a lot on my trip and outside of that when I was in daytime sunlight I used my B&W 77mm Kaeseman Circular Polarizing MRC Filter with a step down ring.
My 18-200 was obviously the first lens I owned and I didn't think anything of it's IQ until I bought my 10-22 a month after getting my camera, then I quickly noticed that the 10-22's IQ was better. Then I bought my 70-200 2.8 IS II, then 50 1.4, and then 16-35 2.8 II...and well long story short, outside of going to Mexico this winter, my 18-200 hasn't been out of my bag in a year almost.
Knowing now what I know, if I had a 100-400L and my choice was between a 18-200 and 18-85, I'd go with the 18-85. The 18-85 is a sharper lens overall and you don't need the reach because you have the 100-400.

Although, I agree with the poster above who thinks Canon is letting the 5D III hype run it's course first. Makes sense to me, since Canon is likely selling 5D IIIs vs. 1D Xs at a radio of 10 to 1? [Pure guess on my part] So there's more to be gained by marketing the 5D III hard.

Given that Canon makes more off these two lenses [55-250mm & 18-55mm] than any others (and those two plus the 50mm f/1.8 II almost certainly account for more units sold than than all other Canon lenses combined!)...
That's very interesting. Really goes to show how large the entry level consumer market is.

I have the 50 1.4 and I've never had a problem with it. It's a great little lens. Is it the same build quality as my L glass, heck no, but dollar for dollar for IQ, it's a great lens.
