Not impressed. Eight months from announcement to release and that's if they hit the mid-June mark.

We can't get a quick price compare between some US stores (e.g. B&H) and some Canadian stores anymore ...
Here's why : http://www.photoprice.ca/article/photoprice-silenced-by-canon
I was using the site to find the best price for a 5D MKIII ...
I attended a Canon information night yesterday & was told, (in fact it was displayed on the video presentation), that the release date would be no earlier than May the 15th.
me too! I am hoping for an end of April shipment! Hell we have been waiting since October 2011! Enought already!
But a guy can change his mind right?
I have a BMO U$D card too and U$D account but it still costs money to change money unless you trade in the millions. 2.5-2.9% is pretty standard.
You have to keep in mind you will pay a 'spread' on your credit card of approx. 2.9% for the conversion. Right now the dollar is almost exactly at par so 2.9% of 3995 is $115.
Henry's is selling for $3699 plus tax which comes in at ~4180 verses $3995USD * 2.9% = ~$4110
There is only $70 difference by my math.
Do what most newbies do, internet research. Google is your friend. Then come back with more educated questions.
Me too! Paid for it in full being international order - feel poorer now!
Given that Canon makes more off these two lenses [55-250mm & 18-55mm] than any others (and those two plus the 50mm f/1.8 II almost certainly account for more units sold than than all other Canon lenses combined!)...
it can do so much more than shoot landscapes, however if you were only ever going to shoot landscapes at narrow aperture then may as well save some cash and get the 17-40 but personally i love the 16-35 II
