I'm surprised at how many of you do not like his work. I'm not talking about his business practices, just his landscape photography. My whole family and I think it's awesome. From what I could tell, only one person stated a reason (it's over processed). What are other reasons that you don't like it? The one photo that is just weird to me of his is the moon. I saw that one in the gallery and it just looks fake--mostly all of the others look good to me. Looking at the post your best landscape photos page, very few come close, in my opinion, to creating similar work.

Hey guys,

NOTE: Click on the files to see them clearly. They look blurry for some reason on the main page.

Here is a shot from Matador Beach in Malibu, CA. The first is the fully edited version. The second is pretty much how it looked uploaded to Lightroom. I shot it at ISO 50 on my 5d Mark II. I find I can lift the shadows a lot more than even at ISO 100.

Any critique is appreciated.

My vote is also for more dynamic range (at least cleaner shadows). It's really nice to be able to use just one shot instead of combining multiple shots in PS.

I will be waiting to see what the A7R II looks like. It's hard to beat that Sony sensor, so I wish Canon would have joined them with the 50 mp sensor. I love Canon cameras, but I am not a fan of their sensors.

No wifi, no nfc? Has anyone heard anything different? That is a great feature for landscape photography!

Has there been an update on if this is in fact the Sony Exmor sensor? I apologize if someone has already mentioned it. Thanks in advance.

Very well done. By the way, your caption under your name is by far the best I've seen.

Hey guys,

I just came across this article on fstoppers: https://fstoppers.com/landscapes/us-forest-service-about-charge-photographers-take-photos-38489

What do you think? Will it affect the landscape photographer that sells photos (in large or small quantities) or will it not go through?

I am typically in the 17-24 range, but do go to 40 occasionally.

How is the 16-35 f4 at f11 compared to the 17-40? That seems to be the sharpest aperture on the 17-40 and where I typically set the lens for my landscapes. I'm just wondering if there is much to gain by upgrading. Thanks.

Do sensors make the camera?

-It's the most important part for me as a landscape photographer.

Am I missing something here? The Adorama website says $89 after rebate and B&H is $98 after the rebate.

I will add my version soon. My MacBook Pro is back at the Apple store getting the logic board replaced for the 3rd time. When I get it back, I'll post mine.

Thanks for the edit. The underexposed shot helps the sun to stand out there.

Looks great. Thanks for posting that. Did you export in srgb? I know when I've exported in ProPhoto before the colors don't look right.
