EOS Bodies / Re: Wait for the Canon 5D Mark IV or get the Mark III?
« on: November 02, 2013, 06:48:02 PM »
You know better than anyone about yourself.  Ask yourself, do you need camera now? If not and willing to wait for another 1-2 yrs sure why not....

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: $2,700 5D III?!?

I agreed with many folks.  Do you really want to spend $2.7K on Ebay find out it's grey mkt and open box and having to ship it back to seller? I have sold and bought (over 1.2K 100% feedback) many items on Ebay but I sure don't risk $2.7K on unknown seller.  Save yourself a headache and buy from Authorize dealer!!!

After DPREVIEW of D800, YES I went ahead and trigger buying Canon 5D Mark III.  I am very one happy customer!!!

I sell and buy lots of item on CR.
From my experience:
1. Make sure you obtain his/her phone # and let friends or family member where you're meeting the person or even fact go with friend.
2. Meet front of public area (Starbucks and bank) high traffic area
3. Since you're buying high value item, I suggest you meet front of bank and do not have cash until you verify the item.
4. Meet during day time!!!!
5. Before you meet the person, talk to him/her and find out product before you meet.

Hope this help you out....

I am currently using SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB both CF and SD.  Why? Currently the fastest in the market and reliability. Yes, they are expensive but what's it's worth I am not going to $$$ for nice camera with cheapo flash cards later find out I loose valuable photos of my kids.

EOS Bodies / Re: Disappointed in Amazon 5D Mark III Preorder
« on: March 23, 2012, 10:58:08 PM »
I too placed ordered 3/2 living in Bay Area but body only. I see that CC is pending for charges which means i expect Amazon to ship out my new toy soon.  In addition amazon order status is now changed to "shipping soon".  :-)

I had mind order through Amazon (3/2) body only and I am seeing CC pending for charges.  :-)

Top of that it shows as pending for "shipping soon"  what's odd is it states, " We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date."

After I have called Amazon 3x within last 3 days and multiple people complaining there is something going on...

I called my local store here in San Jose (San Jose Camera), CA. and they have it in stock..... I too have Amazon on preorder (3/2) and I have asked to upgrade me to one day shipping FoC (free of charge).  What do I do,.,,,, cancel and buy one from local store?? Tax will kill me.... for $250+ I can buy new battery grip.  :-(

Decision, decision, decision..... to wait or cancel that is the question......  :-)

EOS Bodies / Re: Buy 60D or Save for 5D?
« on: March 22, 2012, 03:55:52 PM »
I currently own 60D and have 5D Mark III on the way.  Someone with no experience 60D is a great camera and invest $$$ in lens (you won't lose $$ in value).  Having said all that if $$$ is no issue sure go with full frame 5D Mark 2/3.  Once you feel comfortable than move to Mark 3.  For me I spend all my $$$ in L lens and went with 60D.  No regrets.

I called Amazon and e-mail and they still don't have ETA.  They did provide me with one day shipping free of charge.   Sooner or later I'm sure Amazon will ship it....
