A slight cliche, as this is one of the most visited tourist sites in Ireland. It was beautiful on Christmas morning, though....

I bought a micro camera to clip onto Fluffy's collar to see what she did all day. The camera was set to take an image every 10 seconds. I managed to capture 9 hours of sleeping cat.

I tried it on her outside. She came back without camera and collar. I never found it.

We had one of these. First day we put it on our dog who roams free during the day (a Cavalier - we live in the countryside). We now have a film of our neighbours kitchen, with the neighbours in pyjamas feeding our dog biscuits. We didn't save the film and we haven't used the camera since....

Canon General / Re: Advice on pricing

How much would you professionals charge for something like this? I live in Knoxville, TN, in case you want to take cost of living into account.

It may not be possible to answer this question legally in the USA on a public forum as this could be considered price fixing. Even when it is a general ballpark question. The penalties for price fixing are jaw-droppingly large.
I am not a lawyer, and do not live in the USA (and therefore could well be wrong). I came across this from a similar question that seemed equally innocuous on a professional (veterinary) list-serv that I am a member of.

This is the post mill at Mountnessing in Essex.  I wanted stars AND the mill in moonlight.  The moon was bright....the stars were out.   f/4.5, 6s, iso 1600

Great shot!

Thank you lion rock, rpt, Dustin and Click. I appreciate the kind comments.
I am on crutches following an argument with a horse - so am relying on good photo opportunities coming to me at the moment... this one was taken from my back door.

Landscape / Fluffed it! Moon and ISS
« on: October 10, 2013, 05:38:33 PM »
You could see the International Space Station fly across the sky (it moves fast!) and across the moon tonight from parts of Ireland. Unfortunately I fluffed the photo... I exposed for the moon, not realising that the ISS would be a lot less bright until I reviewed the photos afterwards. A longer telephoto would have helped, but I don't have one.
So, if you ever get to see this, over-expose for the moon or be smarter than me....
The ISS is the few pixels in about the centre of the image....

100% Raw I need all the help I can get too cover my crap technique..

Started out with jpegs as I was worried about disk space. Too many unsaveable shots. Bought a larger hard drive and lots of external hard drives....
