Speedlites, Printers, Accessories / Re: CF Cards Vs SD Cards
« on: September 17, 2014, 01:08:24 PM »
Using 1d4 and 5d3 its simple: I prefer the CF cards due to the slow SD interface
In my Sony or Fuji the SD shine with speed.....

7d2 supports finally the UHS protocol- wow. Canon, the late adopter.

EOS Bodies / Re: How can we improve on 5D3 to 5D4?

Faster dealing with the files:
deeper buffer (6 frames raw+jpeg is poor) and/or faster SD interface.

Not more, but more spreaded AF- points.

Thats all for me.

I love my X100s- the best APS- sensor at higher iso, very decent colors.
Definitely worth a look.
Yes- the leaf shutter is a very nice feature for a flasher!

Can't Canon make a 50 or 85mm with leaf shutter, like some MF systems had?
I would be very interested!!

IF I replace my beloved RX100Mk1, this camera has to be better then the Mk3 oder the LX100 from Panasonic.
Seems to be a good camera, coming a bit late.

The reason for buying my 1d4 and 5d3 was the user interface and the lenses, I have and love.
For sure it was not the sensor.

Increase in resolution: not much.
Everything else like white balance, shadows, lights, local corrections can be much better.

Maybe you need a bit of rest. I had this too, years ago, didn't care very much. Came back with more appetite. Do something different.
If making pictures is your thing, you will notice that.
Good luck!

The movie about Kubrick was very good. How they got all these people tell the "truth"- and the finale- GREAT!

Canon has a lot of selfconfidence to predict the sales of this (any) item for the next 2 years.....

OR: the new 7D is that good, nobody will buy any other camera  ;)z

Canon General / Re: Battery Overheat
« on: August 16, 2014, 07:19:51 PM »
A mobile - a Nokia from the early nineties- had a battery overheating, that melted even the contacts.
The phone was in a friends coat, so he noticed it very quick.....

I place my NiCds or LiIons when the get charged on a place, that can't burn, like a big plate.
Safety first.

@mcguyver: I hope too it will not be a "cripple to fit"- body.
Would be very nice they bring out a body which shows, what is possible now.
As the coming APS- C top notch body from the leading company it should fit in this category.

We will see soon.
I hope.

24-70 and 70-200 you should have.
For travel to cover everything, a Ultrawide would be useful: something starting with 16....
