For me it is the Canon 17-40L, Canon 24-70 2.8L and the 70-200 2.8L IS II, but shhhhhh will try to sneak the 100 2.8L when noone's looking.

A few weeks ago I did a product shoot alone, working the camera (6D), lights and reflector all by myself.  Midway through the shoot and with my back starting to ache a bit from picking up products, placing them in the stand, checking the composition in the camera, picking up and moving the reflector around, etc I realized I had the wifi function and started using it.  Now I didn't have to go the camera to check the composition as I placed the products in the stand and could check perfectly in real time how the light was hitting the product bounced in the reflector as I moved it accordingly, all in the screen of my iphone.  Definitely NOT a gimmick.

I am reading up a lot on this, preparing for purchasing a 7D classic, and everyone seems to agree that the 18mp APS-C sensor is capable of excellent results, providing it is paired with a "good enough lens".

So, my question is: Which lenses ARE good enough for the 18mp APS-C sensor?

Lots of answers are: "L mark II"

So, is it only L mark II that are "good enough" for 7D? Where do you draw the line? At L-glass?
Is the 85mm f1.8 good enough? The 70-300 non-L? the 17-40L?

If someone had a list of "good enough" lenses, I would (and I think others too) appreciate it a lot. Especially where to draw the line. L mark II are WAY out of my budget, so lets set the limit to 1000$.

Which lenses are good enough (sharp and resolving power) for the 18mp APS-C sensor, below 1000$?

Come on! Give me some nice recommendations! (3rd party is fine too)

To me, the Canon 10-22 or the Tokina 11-16 is a must.

Other than that, a 24-105L for standard all around zoom and a 50 1.4 for portraits/bokeh and you're all set. 

If you like macros, the 100 2.8L IS is awesome.

That said, ISO 1600 is as high as I went, 3200 if absolutely necessary to get the shot.  You can always reduce noise on post though.  For your needs I think is more than OK, unless you plan to use isos higher than 1600 often, then I'd recommend going full frame.

Amazon has Canon 6D body only at $1999 with additional 6% back in Amazon credits (good as cash to me) for net out at $1879 no tax/shipping.  Would like to order the kit with 24-105mm, may wait for same percent back deal on kit ....

Oh and by the way, the 6% Amazon rewards credit also applies for the kit.

I got in on the Amazon 6D offer a few days ago.  They just received stock yesterday.  The offer is good until January 1st.

Bought it on Amazon for about US$1880, after promotions. Only thing is it's temporarily out of stock, but I can wait.  It was 1,999 last night plus a 6% reward as an Amazon credit in about a month.  Good deal.
