The Canon 1D X will work in the ControlTL® system with some important operational considerations:
• Manual power control only – No TTL. TTL is not currently available when using the 1D X with a MiniTT1 or FlexTT5. See additional information on the next page.
• Manual power control operates normally, which includes the following functions:
• Manual power control for X-sync
• Manual power control for HSS
• HyperSync®
• Rear Curtain Sync
• AC3 ZoneController with the zone set to “M” for Manual
• Manual power control of compatible flashes like Einstein E640, AlienBees, White Lightning, and select Elinchrom flashes
• Improved HyperSync performance. New HyperSync enhancements allow for the 1D X to perform well when shooting with studio flash above X-sync.
• PowerTracking with the Canon 1D X works with “Full Manual” and the new
“Full Manual + FEC” setting. Other PowerTracking settings are not available
at this time.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 & Camera Raw 7.2 both in RC @ Adobe Labs

New Camera Support

The following new cameras are now supported:
•Canon EOS 650D / Rebel T4i
•Canon EOS M
•Fuji FinePix F800EXR
•Leaf Credo 40
•Leaf Credo 60
•Nikon 1 J2
•Panasonic DMC-FZ200
•Panasonic DMC-G5
•Panasonic DMC-LX7
•Pentax K-30
•Sony DSC-RX100

Camera Raw 7.2 release candidate includes tools to recover image sensor data typically lost when shooting in a camera crop mode (e.g., 3:2, 16:9, 1:1). You can view the entire recorded image and are not limited to just the crop mode selected in camera. This functionality is available to the newly supported cameras in both Lightroom 4.2 RC and Camera Raw 7.2 RC. This new feature does not work in Nikon or Panasonic cameras as cameras from these vendors crop the raw data to the chosen aspect ratio.

Hi Lady,

I was a Manfrotto photographer for years. I ended up selling the kit that I had and changing to Cullman and haven't looked back. It's German precision engineering andvery high quality but at a fraction of the price.

I'm sure you can find a local stockist...   It's worth having a look at them. I've gone carbon fibre for mine as I travel, again far below the Manfrotto price tag.

Just came across the Fundy Software products after looking at a link from OnOneSoftware....

Sounds like we were lucky in Perth, Western Australia to have them already. The first shipment that I am aware of arrived March 22nd. Of course they all went out for pre-orders...

Looking forward to seeing the DxO results of their testing once done.   I was very impressed with the camera when giving it a test drive on the Information Night on the 22nd.

I'm not sure about the other countries, but here in Australia when we had demonstrations of the new cameras done by both Nikon and Canon two days apart, the D800 shown was still a pre-production model while the 5DMkIII was a brand new retail unit straight out of the box...

This leads to the obvious questions, are the results posted for pre-production or retail product and why haven't the Canon results been posted yet?

New Canon EOS 5D Mark III Set To Be Available Via Cheap Grey Channel

Given that Sigma have been price matching the Grey market for over a year, and Nikon planning to "match overseas grey pricing and supply a two year warranty to consumers who buy their products via a Nikon approved retailer", what are Canon going to do to support those of up trying to attain CPS membership and purchase through the "authorised" distrubutors?

I'm already finding it almost impossible when trying to sell my old lenses when I upgrade to newer versions - even when still under warranty as i'm competing against new product through local comsumer stores that sell so much below what i purchased it for. Getting a 30% return on a 1-2 year old lens is financial suicide - Another reason for longer refresh times from the market.

Maybe if enough of us in Australia request a fair go from Canon they may do something - especially with the strength of the local currency.

Hi All,

I'm just after a recommendation of Portrait editing plugins for Photoshop/Lightroom (Windows Platform).

The two I have been thinking of are "Portrait Professional" (http://www.portraitprofessional.com) and "Portraiture" (http://www.imagenomic.com/pt.aspx)...

Added - I'm also interested in comments/reviews of onOne Software's Perfect Photo Suite...

I would be interested in comments/recommendations/comparisons of these or other products.

Wanting to buy in the next few days...

add another Aussie to the list...  this time from way out west (Perth)...

Very happy with my 7D here (Canon 10-22mm, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, 50mm f/1.4, Sigma 17-55mm f/2.
Hanging out for a 5D Mk III with Dual Digic V Processors and a 24-70mm f/2.8L IS lens....  Well I can dream...

Now to throw another interesting question into the 5D Mk III debate....

There has been previous rumours about the resolution of this camera being 20+Mpx...
There have also been previous rumours about the Digic V being released Q2 2011 (and being apx 28Mpx)..

Would it therefore be dreaming too much to see the successor of the 5D Mk II having the new Digic V processor?
Single or Dual Processor? (Crossing fingers for Dual)
