x2 on the 135/2L, great performer. As for zooms (if money isn't an issue...), the 16-35/2.8L and a 70-200/2.8L would cover you for most situations (along w/ your 50.) Also, a 24-70/2.8L is a good indoor range. Consider renting some lenses online (eg. here) before you buy.

Has anyone ever seen an even numbered release for the 7D?  I can't remember myself.

Yes -- I got 1.0.9, 1.1.0, 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.2.3, and now 1.2.5.

UPDATE:  This is weird... My EF-S kit lens (18-55) came in perfect - zero adjustments.  I have an important shoot scheduled next week so I need to hold on to my body and lenses for now, but I think I may send the 50mm in with the body after that.  That +16 and +14 bothers me a little.

I have a 50/1.4 that needs similar amounts on my 5DII (and a bit less on my 7D.) I wouldn't worry about the numbers unless you have some L lenses that dial in at similar values. Be carefull w/ the zoom BTW. You need to measure it at different zoom settings. If the values differ, choose a setting that corrects the long end better since the MA is less critical on the short side.

About a year. It was in a spot I would drive by to work as well -- an armchair dumped in a patch of small sequoia trees. When I finally did get a shot I wasn't happy w/ it and went back the next day; the conditions were just the same ! (After a year of waiting, two days in a row) -- just to find out that the patch got cleaned up that morning and the chair was gone

I did wonder why it appeared on UK/Euro first, since normally I think it appears on JP first.

Canon JP still seems to be struggling w/ the aftermath of the quake, they list 1.0.8 as the latest for the 60D. Canon US hosts 1.0.9 for that camera (haven't checked Canon EU.) Another interesting bit is that Canon US doesn't list DPP 3.10.1 for the 7D but for any other camera w/ raw support. Something is going on in the background...

1.2.4 for the 7D was released via the Canon service centers for the last month or so. Anyone sending in their camera would get it back w/ 1.2.4 installed (again, in the US. Not sure if that's true for the EU.)

What is PL Mount? I have never heard of it before, and Googling for "canon PL mount" only returns a million copies of this press release. Anyone know?

I use B+W 010M (UV haze MRC) on most of my lenses. Beware of uncoated filters, they flare easily. An alternative would be 007M (Clear MRC).
