You can certainly use flash in Live View, you just need to set Live View Silent Shooting to Disable. It's another if those RTFM things, I guess...   ::)

True.. But it's easier to just switch for testing purposes.. :)
and hey... real men don't RTFM... *LOL*

On an aside though, in Europe the lens is selling for EUR 12,999.

Depends on where in Europe you live.. :-(
In Sweden the price is set at €14050 or $18450 including our lovely 25% VAT..
That so steep it's ridiculous, meaning that us amateurs will never ever afford it..
Not even used..

if it's anything like my 5DIII remember you can't use Live View when using a flash..
It doesn't trigger the flash when using Live view..

My 560's work fine with both on 5D3 and 5D2 and with triggers...

As said before, there are no firmware's on Yongnuo flashes that can be upgraded..
They're as stupid as a flash gets.. :D
Great flashes/strobes though..

I can't help you with the stacking thing unfortunately
but I gotta ask why use f/8?
I use 2.8 on my 16-35 with the focus set to infinity..
That way you can keep your ISO down to a minimum and get less noise at
the same amount of time.. using the 600 rule...
If you have a 30 Sec exposure using ISO 6400 @ f/8 you can go down to
ISO 800 @ f/2.8 and still have a 30 sec exposure..
You'll still get the sharpness you need..

I use HighTech and they work pretty good for me..
As everybody else has said.. no filters are in anyway scratch resistant but after using them on
two trips with heavy uses there's no scratches that messes up the pictures..
You do need something to remove the dust with before and after each use, I use the lens cleaning kit
with a "rocket blower" and cloth..

I bought a 1-2-3 kit and a 10 Stop with Lee holder and 77 and 82 Wide angle adapters..
Only used the 1 stop to stack, never alone so I haven't had much use of it..
Then again, I use the 10 stop most so +/- 1 stop doesn't make much of a difference.. :)

100-400 F4 without 1.4 extender, Would be a good alternative to the 200-400 maybe half the cost? Either way I'm sure the 100-400 and 7d currently put are great and can make great photos, I just want something new for once since I've usually only bought used. Go savings account!!

Or with the extender and good sealing ? That would actually probably make me buy it..

I usually say "Money in the bank is fun you haven't had" but it's the same thing here..
I tend to buy used stuff.. There's such a significant price drop on lenses after just 1 year
I just can't justify the cost..

would be nice with f/4 all the way though.. a 2x Extender III and this one would make one hell of a zoom.. :)

But yeah, of course you're right.. It would be one heavy and probably expensive lens,
Probably in the same price range as the 200-400 which is ridiculously expensive..   :-(

@f4 all the way? no way !, it would make it big and expensive

it would make it a 200-400 f4 :P?

Either way i hope to adapt this camera for wildlife pictures, the lens will depend on the price
If it's close to a used 300 f2.8....., i rather go for that one along with a 500 & 70-200

Would appreciate if they could get it to stay @ f/4 all the way but from the looks of the patents
it looks like it's going to be another f/4-5.6..
From what I've heard the current 100-400 is kinda prone to suck up dust and moisture..
Gotta friend who has one though and he's very satisfied with it..

Will the rumored 7D come with a new kit lens?

Highly doubt it, it's way to expensive and heavy to become a kit lens
