I bought my 5D3 back in March and have rolled over my file numbers (9999) twice so i'm well over 20,000. I was switching between the 7D for half the year too.

I don't use this lens much but i like it a lot when i need it. My 17-40 took a really nasty drop once. It was in my camera sling bag, i had forgotten to close the bag and for some dumb reason i decided to jump and take a picture, the lens came flying out and smashed into the concrete floor. It was the worse sound ever, the cap flew off, a piece of plastic ring in the front came off but i was able to push it back into the lens. Upon testing the lens, it worked just fine with hardly any signs of damage. It's one tough lens.

The few things I hope Canon will improve for the next version of 5D Mark III is the menu layout….it’s difficult to skip from one section on the menu to another.

i find myself shooting more jpeg lately with the 5D3. I did a prom shoot this past weekend and shot RAW + JPEG. I decided to use the JPEG's and honestly i don't think my RAW conversions would have turned out any better/different.

im seeing the exact same thing with mine, when i asked others they didn't seem to know what i was talking about...it may be that to some it's not noticable. the screen keeps flickering, but i found that if i press any button to bring up a screen, the screen no longer flickers anymore. this only happens when you initially change the mode dial.

i was kinda upset with Amazon because it seems like they were not fulfilling orders on a first come first serve basis. Many who ordered after me (2:16am Mar 2) are alreading getting their shipment notices. I cancelled and ordered with Norman Camera, MI and will be receiving it tomorrow.

Thanks for the info. Just got off the phone with them, ordered it and shoud receive it by tomorrow. Canceled my pre-order with Amazon.
