I just put up a second set of raw files from the 6D/5D3/5D2:

This is along with the raw files described here:

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 6D Raw Sample Images With Comparison To 5D2 And 5D3
« on: December 14, 2012, 12:08:11 PM »
The links to the RAWs are actually TIFFs when I download them (i.e. *.TIFF instead of *.CR2)

Hmmm, not sure how that's happening, when I view the source for the page and then search for tif or TIF it comes back with zero hits.  And all the files in the directory it's pull from are .CR2, there are no TIFFs in that directory.

Is anyone else having this problem or are you able to download .CR2 files?

Thanks

EOS Bodies / Canon 6D Raw Sample Images With Comparison To 5D2 And 5D3

You can download the raw files at the link.  It's three scenes, I setup my tripod with the 70-200mm on it and just switched the bodies so it was the same scene with the three cameras.  From ISO 800 up to the highest for each camera going in 1 stop increments.  Don't have the jpegs up yet.

Software & Accessories / Canon DPP updated to 3.11.31
« on: June 14, 2012, 06:49:28 PM »
Canon has released an updater for DPP taking it to 3.11.31.  Changes are:

- Supports images taken with EOS Kiss X6i / EOS REBEL T4i / EOS 650D, EOS 60Da.
- Supports new lens (EF-S 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS STM).
- Fixed a phenomenon where the camera’s serial number that is displayed in the shooting information of the image is not displayed correctly for some of the EOS 60D.
- Fixed a phenomenon where the buttons for HDR tool cannot be displayed under specific settings of the display.
- Fixed a phenomenon where check mark or rating that is set using Quick Check Tool may not be displayed correctly.

Turbocharged,

If you have some images that were converted in High Speed mode from the previous version check them against the new version.  What I'm seeing is that the new version High Speed mode is a little softer then the old version High Speed mode:

Just updated my posting for you.  You can now see a difference layer between them on my site.  Flipping between the two images you can see that the new version makes High Quailty better then the old version.  But now you have to wonder, since the new version of high speed is softer, is the high quality as sharp as it could be?

EOS Bodies / Test of new DPP version 3.11.26.0 - new softness bug??
« on: April 16, 2012, 08:30:17 PM »
swampler over in the thread for the New DPP release posted a link to the Canon Canada that has version 3.11.26.0:

http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=5638.msg109380#msg109380

I installed it and re-ran my test to see if they fixed the softness issue.  While it looks like they might have fixed some of the softness issue, it also looks like they've introduced a new bug.  If you compare an image converted with the old version of DPP set to high speed to an image converted with the new version of DPP set to high speed, you can see that the new version is softer then the old version:

About to give up on my search for the new Canon 5D Mark III. Unless anyone out there can suggest of where to get one. Thanks in advance for your help.

EOS Bodies / Canon 5D Mark III White Balance Test
« on: April 05, 2012, 08:54:24 PM »
Tested the 5D Mark III's AWB setting using three different types of lights:

Looks like the warmer the light source the more the AWB is off from what it should be.

EOS Bodies / Does new DPP 3.11.10.0 have a bug?
« on: March 25, 2012, 10:37:19 PM »
Has anyone else noticed that the new DPP that ships with the 5D3 will make JPGs sharper when set to high speed viewing and softer when set to high quality viewing?  Here's what I'm talking about along with test images:

Here's another comparison of the shutter sound difference:

http://www.metrodcphotography.com/review/canon-5d-mark-iii-shutter-sound-normal-silent-mode/

Some of the other videos I saw didn't seem to have much of a difference in the sound, but when trying it in person you can really tell a difference.  Tried to capture the volume difference.  The silent mode in person is pretty good.  It's pretty close to the sound of the live view shutter sound.

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D Mark III low ISO raw samples
« on: March 25, 2012, 09:16:49 AM »
Thank you for the nice samples! Just a small note that a few of the flower shots were OOF due to the wind.
Yeah that was a problem with yesterday in DC.  Today still not that nice out, all grey.

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D Mark III high ISO raw samples
« on: March 24, 2012, 10:05:50 AM »
Thanks! These are the best real life high-ISO raw samples I have seen. Could you post some low-ISO raw samples as well?

No problem, started a new thread for the low ISO samples:

http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php/topic,4778.0.html

If there's something else people would like shots of or tests of let me know and I'll try to get them up.  Also if you'd like JPGs of them from the shipped Canon DPP I can do that too.
