I phoned Really Right Stuff also yesterday. The person I spoke to said that their generic MPR-113 plate "works well" (as previously reported). He said that one needed to use the MPR-C optional flange at the FRONT of the plate (that he said always has come with the plate even if I never remember receiving one!).  I commented that both the rear and front of the Canon lens foot curve up so there is no right angle to set against any flange.  He said that he had a 100-400 mk II in front of him and it worked fine.  I remain skeptical..

Whether or not Canon ever makes its own lens plate or foot that is A/S compatible, it seems strange to me that the current design of the lens foot seems so lens plate unfriendly.

Contests / Re: Gura Gear Giveaway
« on: December 05, 2013, 03:13:56 PM »
I have recommended my Gura Gear Kiboko to so many friends.  It has saved my equipment many times with the restrictive carry-on limitations (Air New Zealand - 15 lbs = Kiboko, 400mm DO + 2 bodies, 1.4X TC.)

I would love:

Chobe - 19-24L
Saba Super (sand)
Tenbo 6 CF/ 3 SD

B&H Photo lists the white model of the EOS-M as "Discontinued".  I am not sure if B&H Photo ever carried the silver or red models, but it does not currently even list them on its website.

I had a Live Chat with a sales rep yesterday about the White EOS-M I had ordered July 5. He said that my order would be fulfilled but B&H would not be able to fill some of the orders made after that date. B&H still taking orders for the black model with the 18-55mm lens (in stock) and the black model w/ the 22mm lens (back-ordered until July 18), but no body only listing.

This seems consistent with Canon stopping manufacture of the EOS M, or of just the white model.

EOS Bodies / B&H Photo showing the white EOS M as "Discontinued"

I ordered a White model w/ 22mm lens on July 5 at which time they were out of stock, but expecting delivery later this month.  My order status says "On order".

Checking B&H's website for this model:

"This item has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available."

B&H said that my order should be OK since I had not received an e-mail.  B&H still has the black model with 18-55mm in stock and the black model with 22mm backordered until July 18.
