A few shots from our recent trip in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. From the top:
- Alstrom Point at Lake Powell, the last sunrays. This one costed us a punctured tire on our Nissan XTerra
- False Kiva, Island in the Sky, Canyonlands NP, not even in the official park map, but worth every penny to visit
- Mesa Arch, Island in the Sky, Canyonlands NP, well, you just have to come very early to get a reasonable spot
- Wahweap Hoodoos,Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, at sunrise, it costed as 8 km hike in the  dark in a dry wash, lamp and GPS were our best friends
- Lower Antelope Canyon, we came at 8 am, when they open, bought photographer pass and started from the end of the canyon. This way, we had the whole canyon only for ourselves for the whole hour.
- House on Fire ruin, Mule Canyon

I hope you enjoy the shots :)

Yes, very dramatic images and nicely processed. Good to see a different view of such an iconic city.
Thanks, very kind.

Hi dilbert.
Please could you show us a picture of yours to show us how it should be done, or if you don't have one perhaps a detailed explanation of the technique and processing needed to achieve no blown highlights. Whilst you at doing that the rest of us can take our pictures wih blown highlights and at least have something to show!

Cheers Graham.

I can't believe how many of these images have blown highlights.

This is one of the first ever sunset pictures that I took with a DSLR. Unfortunately it gets converted to sRGB for the web ...

Dull and lifeless.

The French will be so glad to hear you describe their capital city in that way.

This has nothing to do with where an image was taken, it's the depiction of it. That shot has no soul.

A photographer cannot capture what isn't there, so if there is no soul in that photograph then there is no soul in Paris.

Wow, that's really pathetic. Is that the best you have?

Well why don't you show me how it is done? After all, you've been shooting for 40 years so after that much time behind a camera, every click of your button must be gold.

Doesn't matter how long someone shoots, no one ever makes great photography with every click. Check your PMs.

CANON RUMORS - I came for the rumors, I stayed for the dramas..  ;D

It would be a drama if we could see them duke it out.

Whitechapel, East London and City borders. Known as Bangla Town for its large Bangladeshi population.   It is vibrant, noisy and fun to shoot.

Alexander Lopez, from Brazil.  Been on the street for a couple of years after splitting with his wife (due to his drinking)  He used to work in marketing near Liverpool Street. He spoke intelligently and lucidly about the Sephardi  Jews of Portugal (of which faith he was born into).  He was very engaging, listened attentively.  I gave him money for dinner or whatever  and vowed again not to complain about my life.....at least for today.
