Video & Movie / Canon 6D NYE fun
« on: January 01, 2014, 07:56:49 PM »
Got about 3 or so mins of footage from NYE at a friends house, since everyone kept telling me to stop recording them lol. Ended up with a nice lil montage tho, jello shots helped get some good moments.

Technical Support / First problems with 6D (return window)
« on: January 01, 2014, 01:39:51 PM »
Love the 6D, but last night I saw my first glimpse of stuck pixels in a lot of my pictures. I was working with higher ISO in a dark room so I would assume it has to do with that? Still confused on how I get them and get rid of them, but I am still within my return window if it's a more serious issue than I think. Can anyone tell me what the next step is from here?

Portrait / First shots with 6D:)

Got my first camera this week:) (6D) Been testing out my 50mm 1.4 and 24-105mm kit lens. I feel like I'd be better off with primes than a zoom, may end up selling/switching the zoom to an 35mm and 85mm. Love the 50mm tho, took a few pics with it in some lower light fun at a friends house:) The zoom couldn't hang but got some good shots with the 50…or what I think look like good shots. Lemme know what you think.

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: 6D can't be this bad can it?

Does anyone know if Caprock or Zeiss Softar filters help at all? I know of the VAF filter too but if there's one you can slap right on the lens quickly and it works well that would be excellent:)

Canon General / All-I/IPB compression and SDs
« on: November 25, 2013, 08:16:49 AM »
How does the compression work on Canons . Can you choose a bitrate in the menu? Is it decided by the SD slot speed? Decided by the card speed as well? Is it always a consistent speed in All-I? And if so does anyone know the max bitrate for the 6D?  (I think it's. 90 for Mark IIi) Just curious  cuz I don't wanna but an SD card with a super high write speed if it isn't even capable.

Authorized dealers would probably be ur best bet, altho i'm iffy on buying expensive/used electronic equipment. People don't always take care of their equipment like I do so I get nervous.

EOS Bodies - For Video / 6D can't be this bad can it?

I'd like to get a 6D until I save up and can easily afford the Mark III, and can easily replace it if the worst happens (lost/stolen/etc) but all I hear about is how bad the video is. I've watched tons of videos and I can't really judge how bad it is. I see videos with stuff/situations i'd never shoot (far away buildings/roofs/powerlines) and it looks terrible, but then I watch videos where there's plenty of brick buildings and walls around and they look just fine. Some people say shooting at lowest sharpness and adding back if needed in post helps, some say that's not true at all. I'll probably be shooting a lot of events, people/shirts/inside of buildings, altho I don't wanna be afraid to go outside and shoot from time to time, is it that bad? BTW this will be my first camera, but I don't want the GH3, Sony A7, Nikon, etc, just wanna stick to Canon for the most part, but high ISO and easier focus in dark is important so i'm kinda screwed, only have M2/M3/6D as my options it seems.
