I will be selling a 400mm f/2.8L IS and 500mm f/4L IS to afford it, but I am going to buy this if the test results are great.

Canon General / Re: your scariest photography moment?
« on: March 10, 2013, 11:49:07 PM »
Was out hiking taking photos in northern Arizona, out of cell range in the winter.  After climbing a nasty canyon wall I took two steps on the flat caprock and managed to roll my ankle in a tiny cupped depression.  I narrowly avoided falling off a 50 ft cliff by leaning into my turning ankle.  Ligaments torn, cartilage shredded, ankle big and black, I could not support any weight on it.  It took 5.5 hours to crawl back to the car with vultures circling overhead. Crawling with a photo backpack on is no fun. I reached the truck as the sun set and it started getting really cold.  My truck has a manual transmission, and I had to slam shift/use the other foot on the clutch. Oh, and it was a hard core 4x4 road with lots of steep slopes.  I had several gates to open and had to get out and crawl to each gate to open/close.

Looks like an interesting place.  How large is the graduating class? What degrees?

Works fine with LR 4.1.

I just tried and got 25 RAWs.

Custom file names!
Larger RAW buffer!
GP-E2 GPS compatibility!

Thanks Canon! Seriously, GREAT job adding value for your customers.

EOS Bodies / Re: B&H 1DX Order Fulfillment Tracking
« on: July 15, 2012, 01:58:04 PM »
This thread has gotten very junked up and difficult to follow.

Please update this thread with your order status:

This format is easy to tabulate:

10199199xx  online 3/18 12:50 EDT no known ship date (last updated 7/15)
10199416xx  online 3/20 xx:xx  EDT no known ship date (last updated 7/10)

In the interests of keeping this focused on B&H order fulfillment tracking, can the other discussions be continued in separate threads?

Lenses / Re: Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 II Shipping Date?
« on: June 12, 2012, 01:27:43 AM »
I can not believe how long it has taken to get this lens out.

The BG-E11 grip is another example of botched product delivery.  As is the GP-E2 GPS unit.  Seriously, how hard is it to get a simple product like the GPS aligned with delivery dates on the 5D3?  The shareholders should revolt.

Canon has some real issues with production.

EOS Bodies / Anyone get the GP-E2 GPS yet?
« on: May 17, 2012, 11:52:42 PM »
Has anybody received the GP-E2 GPS yet in the US?  I see it has been available in other countries for awhile.

What are the zippers on the LowePro ProTrekker 400AW like?

I have been unhappy with how difficult the zippers are to use on older LowePro backpacks such as the Nature Trekker AW II. Other than the question about the zipper, it looks like what I am looking for.

A needless delay brought on by morons taking photos of lens caps.

So everybody is assuming a Japanese web page is the definitive source on release date?  Assuming the quality control on the web page is perfect?
