In Sedona.  On that amazing day I rented this amazing lens.

Lenses / DANGIT! I rented the 85 1.2ii
« on: December 16, 2014, 03:56:36 PM »
...and now I literally DREAM about owning it!  I'm hoping that Sigma comes out with their new 85 ART, but I'm realizing it's probably not happening soon.

I was happy with my current lens kit of:

35 1.4 Art
50 1.4 Art
70-200 2.8 USM IS II
135 2
24-70 2.8 II

and now, I'm literally losing my mind wanting the 85.

Anyone else considering pulling the trigger?  Those who did, please share your photos with this lens to further torment me (and probably push me over the edge into 85 1.2 bliss).

Has anyone heard about Adobe's plans for moving the CC functionality into the Android world?  There have been whispers about it for a long time, so I wanna find out if anyone's heard anything more concrete.

Thanks In Advance!

Lenses / Where's the Sigma 85 Art?!

I've been holding out for this lens.  It's taking too long!  =)

So, I'm planning on just buying the Canon 1.2 II, which is truly amazing.  Anyone know anything which might talk me off of the ledge?

I'm a PPA member and I've grown to love the publication they send called "Professional Photographer."  It's a very good read, and I've looked to it almost as much as Canon Rumors!  ;)

Lenses / Deal on Sigma 50 1.4 Art gone already?
« on: November 21, 2014, 10:31:50 AM »
It seems that I just wasn't quick enough to jump on that Adorama deal yesterday for the amazing Siggy 50.  Can anyone tell me if it's gone for good?

If not, does anyone have any leads/tips/rumors about upcoming deals on this lens?

Thanks in advance!

Dear Friend , Tia.
Sorry to hear that, But I have no problem about Canon Flashes and  3rd. MFG.= But I use the Best Recharged Batteries from Sanyo, Eneloop for past 10 years and very happy about these Eneloop.

Thank you Surapon, sir!

I use the same batteries.  I didn't buy anything cheap (Enloops all the way).  I wonder if I got a dud.  I've got about 24 Enloops in rotation, and this has happened twice with different batteries each time, only while using my Canon flash.

Thank you for the response!  I know I've got a good thread going if the Great Surapon replies.  =)

Try taking that battery our of the rotation. The flash is powered by all 4 batteries in series so the current drain should pass through all 4 batteries.  You can check each battery's voltage before putting them into a charger.  Got a voltmeter?

Yeah, I've used a voltmeter, and it seems okay after I've cycled it once after this weirdness.  Then, I used it in my Yongous and it performed perfectly.  Then, right after that, cycled/charged and back into the Canon with the same bad result.

Wondering how many of you have seen this:  Using rechargables in my 580EXII.  Also use a few Yongnuo's (YN560III).  The Canon, however, drains 1 of the 4 batteries MUCH faster, however, and I've started to see poor performance from that battery over time.  The Yongnuo's don't ever do this.

I noticed the problem when I started putting the four batteries into my hi-dollar charger/discharger and the amount of remaining charge was always extremely lopsided when compared with the other batteries from the same flash.  Seems like a very uneven draw.  Hmmm...

Like I said, Canon only.  Yougnuo's don't show this.  Ever.

Thoughts?  This actually worries me and I'm less likely to buy another Canon flash if this is common.

Speedlites, Printers, Accessories / Need Best Monitor for Photo Edits
« on: November 07, 2014, 02:49:15 PM »
I'm building a new desktop just to handle my photo editing.  I'm putting all the good stuff into it (SSD's, i7, etc. etc.).  However, there are so many good monitors out there.

What's best?  What do you all use and love?  Whatever I use will be calibrated - I just want suggestions for specific models.  I'm guessing ISP, right?

Can you all help?

Thanks in advance.

Much success.

Lenses / Where are the Siggies?

I'm excited for Sigma's Art line (they're amazing - at least my copies have been), but I've not seen any news for a long time on the long-rumored 135 or, ideally, 85.

Has anyone heard anything?  Nothing has been posted here on CR for awhile.

Lenses / Re: What New Lens are You Most Excited About?

I didn't notice the Sigma 135 f/1.8 OS Art mentioned.
Is such lens announced? Just rumors AFAIK...

True. Supposedly, the 24 and the 85 Art will come first and I have no doubt they will be excellent, but it's the 135 that I find most exciting from a creative point of view. It's as close to the EF 200 f/2 as I'll ever get.
+1, These two 24mm and 85mm from Sigma will fit in my collection. And hopefully will be at the same level of the 35A and 50A.
I hope the new 400mm f4 DO will be farily priced between the f2.8 and f5.6 versions.

I'm freaking out waiting for the Siggy 85 1.4 Art.  After that one comes and they move on to the 135 1.8, I'll sell my amazing EF 135 f2 and pick it up if Sigma keeps up the momentum generated with their stunning 35A and 50A.
