Canon General / Re: Why do you do Photography?

For the money.

I love money.

I am using 5D3 every day with 32gb Sandisk Extreme - via card reader. I have my 5D3 for one year just now. I had never have a problem with putting a card in and out. It is just about to do it carefully. It seems like "hoax" for me to read about some bent pins.

I am using 28 Eneloops right now for weddings etc. It is the best, what I ever had.

EOS Bodies / Re: What's the normal battery drain for a 5D3 that's off?
« on: April 03, 2013, 06:52:41 PM »
I do simply over 2500 pictures per single charge of an original 5D3 battery. The record which I had was over 2700 pictures..

I think that 5D3 battery is just amazing. I am not switching the camera off between shots or something. I just do not look at every picture which I had taken. Because I do not need to. :)

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 7D or 5D3 for low light candids?

I have/had both. Together for weddings. 5D3 is incredibly better camera, than 7D.

I sold 7D a couple weeks ago.

[Hi!

I have bought them via ebay store - directly from the manufactuer. Web link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yongnuo-YN-622C-Wireless-TTL-Flash-Trigger-Canon-7D-5DII-5DIII-1DIV-1DIII-5D-/150878352686?pt=AU_Cameras_Photographic_Accessories&hash=item23210cf52e

At ebay, there are many sellers, where to buy. But this one "hkyongnuophotoequipment" (crazy name :) ) is official ebay seller just from Yongnuo. So, I bought it there because I was sure that I will get the latest version of YN 622C with support for 5D mk III (as I was reading at Internet, some of others sellers may have the older version without the latest firmware of 5D3 support ).

I am from Europe - The Czech republic - the package came from Hong Kong in 7 working days! It was really quick. Marked as a gift, so there were no more taxes.

Many thanks!
It's looking more and more like I should just get them direct from Yongnuo using their ebay site as you mentioned.  Unfortunately Amazon.com will not ship to canada as we have to use the amazon.ca site instead which does not carry the same things for some reason!  I think I'll let the chinease new year backlogs clear up a bit and then I'll just order form hkyongnuophotoequipment store on ebay.
Thanks for all the help everyone!

You are welcome!

Note: If you would like to try to use them with studio strobes, as I was writing about, you will need to buy this 6 dollars cable too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RF-603-6-35mm-cable-Flash-Studio-Strobe-3-5mm-Adapter-/160727446756

I have got YN 622C a couple days ago.

I had no time for deep tests, but it seems that all is working perfectly. They are little bit bigger, than I thought. But it doesn't matter.

BUT I was really impressed, that YN 622C is working with my studio strobes too - and what is more - now I can shoot with my studio strobes up to 1/8000s ! That was something really unexpected for me.

So I am thinking to buy two more of YN 622C to use it as a main receiver/transmitter for my strobes. The old ones gave me 1/160s for my Canon 5D3. This one can help me with really quick movement, like jumping people in my studio, etc.

So - however I did not test them hardly yet - they seems just perfect for me. And the price is really nice.

Where did you buy yours?  Would you recommend them in terms of shipping time, shipping price, and duties?  Thanks!

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Strange sound inside 5D III (?)
« on: February 09, 2013, 07:14:42 PM »
I know this is an old post, but I have the same issue with my mk3 but not my Mk2, and I was just wondering if anyone knows weather the noise is normal or not.

I still have that sound coming from my 5D3. But after almost 80.000 of shutter release, I can say, that it has no depend on the camera functions. It seems just normal sound for 5D3.

I ordered YN-622c just four days ago. I am waiting till it come (delivery should be in 10 to 25 days to my country). I bought it directly from http://stores.ebay.com/hkyongnuophotoequipment - so it should be the latest version which is compatible with my 5D III. Other stores (which I red about) are maybe little bit cheaper, but may have the versions of YN-622c with oldest firmware - which is not supported by 5D III.

Looking really forward to these flash remotes. For less than 100 dollars it seems perfect. I was also looking at Pixel King. But picked Yongnuo at the end.

Hi guys!

At first - I have to tell - I am using 5D3 with OSX 10.8.2. (Mountain Lion) through card reader all the time - so no problem at all.

BUT - I had problems before, when I wanted to have thumbnails of my preview RAW pictures. I had to buy the last version of iPhoto to get a support for last Camera RAW. That gave me 5D3 RAW thumbnail support (not only in app itself, but through the whole OSX system). Talking about this topic: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5371

After that, all is working fine. The connection via cabel to download pictures (5D3 -> cabel -> Lightroom 4 -> Mac) is working too (but I am not using it).

really nice shots Hugo and rhommel.  Hugo, not sure what bride let you shoot her in boudoir but that is one lucky groom.   ;)

Thanks robbymack. That was actually her idea to have pictures like that for her upcoming husband (shot in the morning before ceremony). :) He had not seen them yet. It is birthday preset for him, she told me. :)

Damn! All I ever get is socks...

Lenses / 2003 vs 2013 17-40/4L
« on: January 06, 2013, 09:27:01 PM »
Hi everybody!

I have just - I guess - simple question. Do you think that for example Canon 17-40/4L, which is (if I have right information) for 10 years on the market - will be still same? I mean if you like to compare lens made in 2003 and lens made in 2013 - would they still perform same (IQ)? I am just thinking, that even the lens is for a long time on the market, that company still have to inovate and using new components. So the lenses, even the old ones, should be changing in their performance.

What do you think? Thx.
