I have a blackrapid rs4. I use it on my 7d with grip and primarily prime lenses but its never come loose. I periodically check the link is tight, it's no concern. I've even dropped the camera straight into the strap, I trust it.

Blackrapid make sheaths you can buy an extras with a steel cable if that's your concern. Also the double, which I don't personally own, can be used as 2 singles if desired.

Sun sniper do make double's. Not sure if each side can be separated though.

If using any of the above with say 70-200's with the tripod mount, I'll suggest putting the link from the strap on that instead of the camera to balance. That's all.

The only dysfunction is to use the tripod mount. You have to disconnect the strap.

I've used one on a 5d3 and 7d. I don't see the issue. It's a damn good lens which is very useful.

Try one if you need that focal length. It's a tough lens and its reasonably fast aperture wise. There's a reason the 16-35 mark ii is popular.

That's pretty awesome. An f1.8 zoom finally. Not that I'll be buying a lens specifically for crop on a hurry but that's a great step in that direction none the less.

Go sigma. I love how tamron and sigma are stepping up.

Pro lab preferably, but that said I just I did just get one yesterday just from a consumer lab in a shopping centre just for fun. It's an acceptable print actually all things considered.

There's a pro lab not far from me I've used periodically for years dating back to film days. Damn good lab called bond colour here.

I also fully expect the 7d mark ii to be approximately 3x the current price of the 7d.

Buy one now. Don't hesitate. And besides, the mark ii could be a longer wait yet than we realise, who knows. But either way, we're going to be paying for it!

Zeiss distagon 2/35.

I love fast primes, and that optic is for my own style, stellar.

I agree that only buy what you need. Others have summed that up well above.

My strategy is make use to the best of your ability what you have, for many of us don't have a huge bank account.

Secondly, get the best damn glass that you find appropriate. For me, I had only a 10-22 on my 7d for a while. I purchased a zeiss distagon 2/35. Now the others I may find appropriate are well... Very expensive. Like the zeiss apo-sonnar 2/135. I may buy a zeiss 85mm, for I do kinda need a tele. Notice I somehow mysteriously got addicted to zeiss! Whatever your choice I believe in getting the best that will last you years, If that's L lenses, cool, if its other then also cool. But really think before you buy or else you may be wanting.

Pretty sure sigma have a fast 28mm! Never used it though. It's not a new lens, but it's also supposed 'macro' or in real terms, pretty close focusing at least.

A leaf shutter lens would expand the size of the lens. I think there could be an issue with mounting them on the current bodies. They'd need a re-design.

No aa filter, interesting. Canon's about to be beaten hard it seems. I hope they at least have the option of no aa filter yet.

The lowepro pro-runner 200 might be ok, the 300 will be or the larger trekker backpacks will also be more than adequate.

Lowepro have no shortage of larger capacity bags. The s&f system with belts etc may be another option, look them up, go to a good store which stock them and look in person too.
