I figured that if it was a composite then the images were taken from the same area/shoot at least and not completely different locations. Looking at the original image, it appears that most of it was made by just moving areas of it around, the lighting was pretty much natural but just emphasised. I was surprised that the boat was shopped in tho.

Don't you guys think it's a bit crazy that we're at a time when it's hard to tell a real photograph from a shopped image??

Did Sigma resurrect steve jobs or something? They're like a whole new company now, good for them. Although I was gutted when I found out the 18-35 1.8 was for crop, would have been awesome for ff.

Wow! now that's bad photography!
Theres not a lot of detail given about the contracts and the photographers previous experience so a lot of things could have happened:
1] The photographer conned the couple by using false examples of previous work
2] The rest of the photographs were pretty good but the couple are trying to get some compensation for the bad ones
3] The couple cheaped out on someone they knew wasn't too hot
4] The couple didn't even bother to look at the photographers portfolio
5] The photographer was struck with temporary blindness for the day but really needed to cash so didn't tell anyone.

The one thing we do know is these photos SUCK.

Hey, I wouldn't worry too much about resale value if I were you, lenses are the real investment. If it's your first DSLR I think it's more productive to be in the mindset of: 'Right! this camera will last me for 4/5 years, by which time I'll have shot thousands of images, learned a heck of a lot about photography and know my camera better than my wife'
After you've done that, then it's the time to become a 'gear head', lurking here for snippets of new camera info, complaining about DR etc..

I know when your buying something you want to make the best choice you can, but once you've made that choice fly with it. As for camera advice, I feel the 60D offers the best value at around £600. The 70D will prob come in around £1,000

I wouldn't quite go that far.

Apple products are well thought out and designed.  Jobs was a fanatic about design.  But c'mon.

If they would re-evaluate their pricing model, they would dominate the market. I don't think Apple computers are generating the lion share of the profits.  Methinks that IPhones and IPads are where Apple is making its profits.

It's an interesting thought to see what would happen if they lowered their mac and macbook prices, they would definitely sell more but how many people would they convert from Windows, would it be like a Canon switching to Nikon thing? lol[or visa versa]. But I don't think it would happen any time soon, they have a great profit margin on all of their lines and they'd prefer to maintain that rather than lower prices and sell more units.

While I'm not a major street photographer, I'v found for candid shots something like the nex 5n is well suited. You can have the camera at waist level, flip the screen up so you can look down at it for framing [classic twin lens reflex style!] and it makes it look like you are not even taking a picture but just messing with the controls. This works especially well if you have a puzzled look on your face  . The lens selection is getting better on nex and your capturing pictures with a aps-c sized sensor, a very good one at that.

They could differentiate upwards. 1DX AF and metering, all the other bells and whistles(how much would freedom from the shackles of x-sync be worth?), and charge an adequate premium. Keep in mind that the 5D3 will be at the half of its product cycle by then...

Yes I guess they could, It's difficult to judge whats going to happen. Canon would see a new process high mp sensor as a premium product so they might want to pair it up with a end end body and components first and let it trickle down to other bodies later. Or by time this thing hits the streets it could well be a 5dmkiii replacement?

It'd be a shame if this was a 1 series body, I mean you don't really need the epic build quality and weather sealing in the studio and whilst it's nice for landscapers, i think the majority would prefer a lighter, smaller body. Although I'm sure a High mp 1 series body will fit some peoples needs.

I don't feel there is a full frame in the canon line up for me at the moment: 1dx out of budget. 5D mkiii, autofocus would be wasted on me. 6D, whilst a fine camera, doesn't quite cut it in areas I want. Just little things that add up like, lack of white balance button and thumb stick, not 5 series build quality and lack of cross points in the autofocus.

An ideal high mp camera for me would be:

New process 36 MP sensor
4/5 fps
7D autofocus
5D mkiii body and controls
7D metering

It'd sit well in the line up too:

6fps (MUST HAVE)
new process high DR 39MP
5D3 AF (MUST HAVE, 7D AF isn't that amazing)
5D3 body/UI
7D metering
top video (may need dual-digic to drive it fully off of 39MP and same for the 6fps)

Yeah thats a great camera! but that would be a 5dmkiii replacement that would cost a lot more than the 5dmkiii. This may indeed how things turn out but I was talking about a new line that I would like to see introduced, that would fill a gap in the current line up and would be affordable: hence the low fps and 7d af

I am not too impressed with 7D autofocus. The 5D3/1DX AF is MUCH MUCH better.

No doubt about it, but with the 5dmkiii autofocus then it pretty much replaces the 5dmkiii [which may end up happening]. Canon always differentiate their product line, so I feel if it was a new line in a 5d style body they would separate it from the 5d line by lowering fps and autofocus.
I don't feel a high mp camera will be in the entry level camp so that leaves 5d and 1d style bodies. 5d style could potentially sell more units: back up for 5d mkiii or 1dx, prosumers, studio and landscape hobbyists

Digital Picture and Photozone are very good. They provide a good balance, in-depth without getting too bogged down. It's also good to know that they're not actively selling products, although they do have the advert links and such, they're still independent.
Camera labs is worth a mention too, I like the flow, length and detail of the reviews on there.
I rarely read a full Dpreview review but they can be good if your after a specific piece of information as they cover pretty much everything.
I like the Digital rev reviews for a very general, quick look at a camera.
