Canon General / Re: Canon Can't Even Make a Billion Dollars Anymore
« on: October 27, 2012, 10:07:32 AM »
its not strange this was expected to be honest.

way higher prices most new bodies and lenses went up 50% in price compared to 2009.
there is a global crisis , the dslr market is saturated.
and the need for body upgrades reduces because even a body out 2009 can make great photo's where before there was a lot to wish for in digital dslr's now they are a grown up product with all the bells and whisles.

they need to lower there price and make there products more widely available instead of raise prices and make it impossible to buy new lenses for the avrage guy.

i wil not and cannot ever pay 2150 euros (2800 dollar) for a 70-200 2,8 IS as i only have a income of 915 euros a month...
so no matter how much i like all canon gear they are just stupidly expencive.

makes you wonder how much better dslr's cn do when the software on the camera gets a totalo redo.
the sensor is obviously better yet the immages dont lie (unless they are falslky edited on purpose to favor the ciname cam.)

so with better software or better raw data  management the 5d2 should be a LOT better then the cinemal cam.
if the photo's are that much better thn the ciname fram captures than the movie in theory should be able to be be much better also as its nothing more then stitched togethet photo's after all.

all this movie shows to me is that either he wants to discredit the DSLR filmers or that the DSLR video software needs a LOT of improvement and when it does it wil be better as the sensor simply is better.
if not i want this sensor in a dslr as its mucgh sharper with the same lenses :)
somthing is just off here either canon firmware or video editing of the 5d as it simply doesnt match the theory.

Canon General / Re: Canon Suspends Operations at 3 Plants in China

nice now they have another reason to increase prices even more...

i payed 435 euro for my 450d when it came out now a same entry model already costs 525 euro and theat he time i bought it the 40d was 695 euro now the 60d costs 775 euro but its almost due for a replacement already.
lenses went even op more lately some lenses even doubled in prices when the new version came out.

im sure canon wil abuse this event to raise prices even more.

4
thats what you get for trying to increase your already high profits even more...
this sadly isnt limited to canon bul aal companys lately try to sell stuff that had bad quality controll or just bad parts for more then they sold products a few years ago.

cameras and most other products are supposed to become cheaper over time as the technology is no longer new yet they only go up in price at reduced quality.

look at canons money savings last years...

xxd series went to plastic body's some new lenses went to plastic body's now this issue..

im sure theres ore examples but i cant think of any right now but seriously products are really reducing in quality and increasing in price drasticly lately.

when i bought my canon 450d with the 18-55 is and the 55-250 i spend a total of 890 euro on the 3 parts now the 650d costs 740 euro and the other 2 parts are 55 and 230 euro!

thats 135 euro more or in % its a whopping 15,1 % more expencive! the increase in price only ges up when you go to higher end models!

2) Prosumer APS-C, possibly the 70D and not a direct replacement of the 7D.

its practicly impossible to make a 70d without being better then a 7D....

the 7d is old and needs a upgrade the 60d already took some features from the 7D a 70D cant take much more so will end up being a better camera.

and why no 1200d the 1100d can do with some tweaking also.

ah well with lens prices going up 25 to 40% and hard drive prices staying 60% to expencive i cant afford a new body anyway nore the hard drive spae to store video so ill stick to my 450d.

to bad as im really really interested in macro video but it will have to wait another 5 years or so...

on top of that the 650d is also about 270 euro more expencive at release then the 600d was so canon is going the wrong way with its pricing...
they should be ging down a bit but they go up 30+% on average instead...
its about time the chinese start copying more then just lens hoods and filters so the prices of camera gear starts dropping this stuff is way way overprised.

7
thats one hefty price !
the body only will be more expencive here (if the price calculates like the lenss) then the 60D body.

canon seems to step up there prices drasticly with the latest few models.

the 5d3 was a whopping 1 grand more  this camers is a whopping 200 euro more then the 600d was on release.

im worrties about the 70D wich by this pricing should be body only for 1300/1400 euro and the new 7D should go up to 1700/1800 wich are just rediculous prices... thats 2 times my monthly income good job canon for killing my hobby.
theres no way i can afford these lenses you make but now i cant even upgrade camera.

ah well everything for profits and the directors Mercedes/villa right?

nah doesnt have focus points in the 4 corners so i dont want it.

i dont get excited untill i can shoot at night without flash or untill we get focus points in the corners.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Film is still hard to beat
« on: May 29, 2012, 03:46:00 PM »
personaly i like digital more specialy at iso 100 its often clearer no noice at all and i like it that way.
i get some people like the film noise but i just dont i dont see it when i look at a object so i dont want to see it when i look at a picture of the object.

thats why digital wins for me and i only have a simple 450d now.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: It's Not Even April Fools [CR1]

id prefer it the other way arround.
i have and always will have a low budged and lets face it canons budged lenses arent as food as nikkons budged lenses specialy when it comes to focussing.

canon would do good to get rid of these crappy micromotor lenses all toherget and ask 10 euro more for usm in evert single lense.

they had usb in old lenses like the 24-80 wich was quite fast (bad quality tho) so why not in the new ones?
it obviously doesnt cost a lot to implement so stop being cheap canon and use usm in every lens even kit lenses.

11
sure its used for the movies but they als did spend months editing the frames and spend  many many times the value of the camera on lighting swingarms and so on you operate it smoothly.

its like saying a seat ibiza is as fast as a ferrar (after spending 200 grand on aditional engine parts and manhours.) but if you personaly want the preformance of a ferrari you might asqwell directly buy the ferrari...

EOS Bodies / Re: The image of the new 70D
« on: April 21, 2012, 05:06:25 PM »
cant judge if they are correct but i do hope they fix the button issue of the 60d wich juch feel ackward.
when i press a button on my 450d i feel the click and know i pressed it on the 60d its TO smooth and theres no click like feeling wich confirms the button is pressed.
im not sure why this was done but it bugs me massively.

EOS Bodies / Re: The Big Megapixel Body in 2013?
« on: April 21, 2012, 04:46:04 PM »
with lenses topping out in resolution at about 18 MP i dont see the need for  higher megapixels other then downscaling for sharpness and maintaining a large image and downscaling for noise reduction wich is rapidly becoming unneeded.
in 5 years time we might see completely noiseless is0 6400 and i cant immagine needing a higher iso even with my cheaper lenses that are mostly F3,5 and F4.

This would be for an apsc sensor if i am not mistaken.  So this mean you can resolve up to ~36-38MP on a full frame!  Not bad!

if i remember correct thats right :)
ahh well maby canon is working on a different way of polishing glass or something like that that makes it possible to get more resolution out of new lenses.
but even then it will take about 8/10 years before all the lenses are replaced in the lineup.
i think its wiser to keep working on noise free images at iso 6400 for the time being and fix all the issues that are there in the video part of the camera.

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D Mark III Light Leak?
« on: April 07, 2012, 03:06:42 PM »
so the main question is will the display turn off when taking a photo?
if it does there really is no problem as your not supposed to mess with the screen when taking a shot anyway.
if it takes a few seconds for it to turn off its rather sloppy on canons side but most likely fixable in a firmware update (disable top screen led when taking a shot)
