I like the Sigma lens I own, but the naming nomenclature is getting more and more confusing.

Would it make sense for Canon to start a new "trifecta" of mirror-less cameras?  Say.. the new EF-M as the entry level, this newly announce Rebel as the mid-level, and possibly a full frame mirror-less at the high end.

Good stuff all around.

I am still a big fan of this mirror-less, compact, SLR look-a-like camera (use the Panasonic G/GH series as a standard).  I would like to be able to use the lenses I already have, so if an adapter like that needed for the ES-M is required, I'm in....  I guess.

This looks like the camera everyone wanted the 6D to be.  The specs look great on paper, and that said the price is not too bad either.   

Time to put some coins in the bank for next Christmas.

Interesting on where the 7D mk.II will fall consumer (prosumer) wise.  I don't own either camera, but all the talk seems to point out that the current 7D has a better focusing system than the new 6D.

I am still unclear as to what the "lesser" cameras markets are.  I get the 1D series as professional, but to me, I feel the 5D falls into the professional category as well.  Is this wrong?  I never thought of the 7D as a pro camera until recently, but the xxD series and the Rebel series (xxxD) seem to blend into one convoluted pile.

Has Canon positioned the 60D and the 7D similar to the 1D-S and the 1D Mkxx?   Canon seems to be "leap frogging" an not working in parallel, when they issue cameras.


Confused.. but what else is new...,

Is there a thread relating to the history/reason for Canon using white for it's premium lenses?

I also notice that Sony has a couple of white lenses as well.

Is Canon discontinuing that lens!?  $600 for a $1000 is a GREAT DEAL!  If you don't like the camera body, you can always re-sell it.

The Canon "Refub" site had them for $599.  That's as cheap as I've found.  I bought one last month from Canon for $695, and it was firmware updated and the shutter count was 25. 

So far I have added another 7000 to the shutter count, and it's near perfect... as far as I can tell.

What is the advantage of EF-S glass? 

I have heard that crop sensors have better focus in the middle of the lens on an EF mount.  Does this mean it can take full advantage of the entire lens in an EF-S type mount?
